The hunt for the D.C. area's Psycho Sniper took two huge leaps forward yesterday, as sources revealed detectives have a video that may hold the maniacal mass murderer's face - and officials released a composite picture of a white box truck believed to be the cold-blooded killer's ride. A surveillance tape reportedly caught a suspicious person during Wednesday evening's attack on a 53-year-old engineer, who was killed in Manassas, Va., by the mystery gunman who police say has killed eight and wounded two in his spree.

If it turns out to be a white American get ready to hand in all your guns. Anyone who would hand them in doesn't deserve them.

Cops yesterday said they're moving in on the killer - and his accomplice If he has an accomplice- and I believe that this must be the case-then the Tarot card was just a red herring. God does not need an accomplice.

I talked to a guy who's father was hired by Bonnie and Clyde when they were hiding out on some island. He would row out and deliver food and supplies. The father's clearest memory was that Bonnie was a vicious psycho. She very well may have been a vicious psycho, but weren't Bonnie and Clyde primarily bank robbers? In evaluating the "lone sniper" versus "group" theories, I think we have to consider motivation. Someone out to make an "easy" living through violent robberies may partner with a psycho in order to be a more efficient robber. The driving forces involved cause them to work together. My impression is that most psychotic killers work alone. If the Maryland sniper is working with someone else, his motivations may not be as simple as just a lone nutcase out killing people.

Didn't one of the qaeda handbooks recovered in Afghanistan make reference to the 'polite' discourse to be used when writing to the authorities following a terrorist attack?

Big Jan couldn't be the shooter, she's too shaky!THAT is sooo funny! LOL. I like how you refer to her as "Big Jan". There is nothing very graceful about her is there?
To: MotleyGirl70
Consider that idea that this shooter is a dissed LEO. Pissed with the cops and using this as an in your face sniping to disrespect them. One of the first was just across from a police station. The last was just over the head of a state trooper.
To: reaganbooster
Maybe Big Jan is driving while the sniper from Ruby Ridge and Waco is riding shotgun?

I posted the information because I only heard the story Friday. I had seen a couple of movies that portrayed the two as star crossed lovers so I wanted the information out there.
She also shot a motorcycle cop that had pulled them over and she continued to shoot at the body on the ground while she, as a witness said, "screamed like a panther".

This can not be true. If there were a picture it would be all over the news and someone would immediately identify the shooter. Anything less would be irresponsible action by the police.I don't think it is irresponsible on the police's part to NOT release the picture. Why let the guy know they are on to him? He might try to run for it and they'd lose everything. I for one do not believe they need to tell us everything they're doing to catch this killer because I'm sure he watches TV too! I'd rather he stayed fat, dumb, and happy until they come knocking on his door! They won't do that until they think they have enough to indict him, and they won't want to do anything that will allow this guy to get off on any technicalities

Now THERE'S a chilling thought !
Perhaps a frustrated SWAT sniper who got tired of waiting for the chance to show how well he can shoot people ?
Two things we know for certain: the shooter is EVIL and the shooter deserves to die.

Q. What do you get when you cross Janet Reno and Robert Byrd?
A. A flaming cross dresser.

The white box truck was mentioned by witnesses in the first murders but in the most recent ones witnesses have mentioned a white van. Ya know, I don't claim to be a great investigator but dontcha think it possible that the killer coulda used both ? Perhaps he works for a company with a fleet of vehicles or does service or bodywork on trucks and vans. That might 'splain why the killings only happen on weekdays, i.e. he only has access to them when he is at work.
ChiMark, I expect that truck will go faster than 40mph or else it would be a safety hazzard on the streets. Besides, if you were in a large truck, leaving the scene of a murder.... why exactly would you want to drive fast ? to attract attention ?
Scott from the Left Coast, It is entirely possible for witnesses to confuse balck with purple depending on the shade of purple, the lighting or the witness ability to distinguish color. Unfortunately, witnesses are not always as articulate as we'd like for them to be.

They would not release the picture thus tipping off the madman who might vanish. There are certain things we don't always need to know at the exact moment the police do!

Well I don't know if the writing could offer any help .. but Geraldo interviewed a couple of people that were in the area that did offer some information .. and it was alot more then what Chief Moose has
Chief Moose may have his reasons, but I'll be honest they don't seem to be making alot of sense to me ..

"They thought I was the sniper," said Hobert Epps, a 5-foot-9 white male of medium build with sandy brown hair and a mustache. Well, the perp could definitely have be 5'9" and have a medium build, and he most likely has a mustache, but that's where the comparison ends.

"He's not a mass murderer, he's a serial killer. If someone kills many people at once, a'la Charles Whitman, he's a mass murderer. This nut's a serial killer." Actually, I believe he/she/they fall into the, "Spree Killer," archetype more so than the other two...
...and it is not uncommon for spree killers to work w/ accomplices ala Lesko / Travaglia, Starkweather and his chick, etc.

From
another article recently posted.
"We're working as hard as we can," he said (Moose). "People are continuing to give us information; we're following up those leads. We want people to keep the faith and remember this is certainly not the first person or group of people who tried to change us or change the nation. So please continue to be resilient."
To: ET(end tyranny)
Curious choice of words indeed, yet through this whole thing, I've found most of Chief Moose's pronouncements to be more cryptic and harder to unravel than the note on the tarot...
To: Joe 6-pack
LOL, yeah I know, but I think it fits in with what we were talking about the other day. I think he has a tough time. He has to get messages out to the shooter, without people catching on, yet I think this time, he wasn't talking to the shooter and he said way too much! *smile*
To: ET(end tyranny)
"I think he has a tough time." Any chief of police does...and Moose's is compounded by a bunch of psychopaths driving around in white vans shooting...
...footage for the evening news, as well as the matter of (a) spree killer(s).
Last month, Moose's biggest problem were the little old ladies in tennis shoes at the town hall meeting complaining about the parking problem at Krogers. He is either crazy like a fox and playing a masterful role as the bewildered boxer punching in the dark while his lieutenants close in on the shooter(s), or we are no closer to resolution than we were a week ago. I sincerely hope it is the former, and not the latter. A lot of conjecture has been thrown about here in the last week or so, and IF this matter is brought to resolution, a lot of us will be vindicated and a lot of us will be eating crow...not just about the identity of the killer(s), but about Chief Moose as well.
To: Joe 6-pack
I'm sure not going jusp on the blame Moose, and condemn Moose bandwagon. I think he is having a hard time with the media, who know how to twist his words and finagle more out of him than he meant to say! lol

I frankly know zip about truck makes and models, but when I saw the graphic aid, I immediately said "Isuzu"

Are there other brands of truck that look similar? Why aren't all the registrations for all white Isuzus of the proper make being checked?

My grandad knew them as well. One day way back when I was justa kid, a bunch of us were in the backyard of my granny's(great grandmother) house in Erick, Okla. yapping about how cool the movie was(it had just come out) and my grandad happened among us and wailed into us about how we better not say anything good about those killers. He was still pissed at how they stole bank money back in the days that there were no FDICs. You stole money from a bank it was gone, right out of the hands of the depositors.

I'm leaning heavily towards the Monday thru Friday slug who works for someone else and lives or works near Waldorf, MD., using vehicles rented from a local company there. Check out www.totalcarent.qpg.com and look at the mapquest map from the rental company website, scroll to the bottom and click on the Map button. Routes 5 and 301 run north for easy access to Interstate 495, the beltway around DC, and to the areas of the shootings. His daily work takes him all around the beltway, including possible deliveries to Michaels Crafts, etc. Choose not to go to I495 and the road takes you north to the Bowie, MD. area, scene of the school shooting. Go south on 301 and you end up in VA, just east, and within striking distance of I95/Spotsyvania, VA. Work takes him to these places also.
Take a look around, next time you're out, at work vehicles...courrier services, delivery services, etc. Many are rentals. Total Car and Truck not only offers cars, but also mini vans and full sized trucks...It's not a stretch to say many are white in color, is it? A large, large percentage of work vehicles and delivery vans are white, aren't they.
Someone close to that area, or it's other location in Sterling, VA. should take a drive by and look at their lot...see what the lettering looks like on the side of their trucks. It must be lettered. Not only is it good advertising for the rental company, but it's the law in VA...Commercial vehicles, even rentals, must have the company name displayed on both sides. Sorry, not sure about MD law on this.
Chief Bullwinkle and others have never explained why they told us to disregard the lookout for a white van with the words "Total Recall" or Total something. He did a press conference one night and just said "Nevermind those words, we have discounted them". Total Recall, Total Car Rental...hmmmm?
Anyway, the only thing that doesn't seem to fit would be the Manassas shooting, right? Except that Total Car and Truck Rental has that Sterling, VA. location. If the boss sent the badguy(s) out to Sterling to pick up a vehicle, possibly a needed minivan versus the normal delivery truck, the best rush hour drive back into the Waldorf, MD area would be through "Manassas" to I95 and back up 301, all against the flow of the infamous Wash, DC rush hour traffic.
My two cents...
