Powder..patch..Ball FIRE!

Yeah, I agree. Alberta we'll take. The rest, well...forget it.

Whats wrong with the Yukon and British Columbia? Gives us a land bridge to Alaska and huge amounts of natural resources, and the current residents are by most part just as leery of the goverment as quite a few freepers!

Correct, this may happen sooner. Since Canada has abdicated its national defense government responsibility to the United States.

But only when the people of Canada are ready for it

Not going to happen Sam, at least not joining the USA that you know. Most posters mention Alberta ,which for some strange reason ,known only to the posters , would be happy swapping a Ottawa for a Washington. Given Alberta is "energy" what kind of energy deal would Washington hand to Edmonton? Albertans aren't that stupid. The big suprise comes when the Liberal governments of B.C. and Yukon, and the NDP socialist governments of Saskatchewan and Manitoba are mentioned. Bad Ontario is conservative and the richest. The only province never to receive stabilization payments. Yet for some reason, perhaps the existence of Ottawa within her borders , Ontario is viewed as beyond having any value. As for the Maitimes, we're keeping their wealth in oil, gas, and nickel a secret.

It's interesting to note that few ,if any, benefits would be in Canada's favour and that several benefits would be realized by the USA .Remembering that the only country ever to invade Canada has been the USA ,and that usually the smaller joins the larger I wonder that some day, after the Republics of Aztlan ,Hawaii, Alaska, Florida and North Eastern Somalia, formerly Maine, are recognized by the UN Canadians might vote 38% for allowing American PAU (Please annex us) delegates to visit Ottawa.:)

Most Canadian accept that the great Canadian experiment in nationhood is over. The British North America Act which was dreamed up by a bunch of Lords in London to preserve British real estate interests and impede Manfest Destiny is obsolete.Canadians are also aware that a unified North America would be the largest and richest nation on earth by far. So, in keeping with her aggressive immigration policy, it is time for Canada to add another 260 million immigrants. We will do the deal provided we get an NFL franchise in Calgary.

I support a free Alberta. I support Alberta being Her own country and separating from Canada.

Sorry, but we don't want any more socialists joining the US. So I don't think the idea of Canada joining America is viable. [You'd have to get 3/4 of the states to agree as well as the Congress.] But the idea of Alberta breaking free -- is

No Way. Have you any idea how much it would cost to biligualize (that has to be a word, it sounds so Ottawa) all those US politicians and then there is Metric. Well 100kph is not 100 mph!....btw, who said Manifest Destiny was strictly an American invention. Joey Smallwood used it in Newfoundland to great effect. Look what it got them.

Firstly, there are not as many socialists in Canada as you are led to believe. Canada traditionally follows U.S. political trends by at least one election and believe you me,the clowns in Ottawa are converting liberals to conservatives at an astounding rate. We all benefit in a united North America. The way the world in going today, Globalizm is dead dead dead. The USNA would be totally self sufficient in all respects and the Arabs can eat their oil. Alberta has enough to supply the USNA for 300 years.

I would certainly respect your views on Canada, but I do not agree with you that the United State of America is going to vote to merge with Canada and Mexico. Not in the next ten years.

My view is that Canada needs to decide whether She is going to make the effort required to find a way out of the decline She is in, or hasten the decline into disintergration.

We're not going to be your savior. And once you find out that you can handle things on your own and don't even need to be saved, you'll want to continue to be a free and soverign country.

I'm sure America and Americans will help you, but you need to take the lead in your own interests.

This whole idea of a USNA strikes me as being based on fear and greed and not goodness. I disagree with you about it gaining popularity.

The best idea I have heard is Alberta breaking free. Perhaps just a serious movement in that direction will ignite the changes needed...

Just say no to Quebec though.

C'mon ... wouldn't it be fun to annex Quebec and force them all to speak English (or possibly Esperanto)?
