Incidentally, Mr. Buchanan may not have been completely random. According to a CNN article he was the son of a retired Montgomery Police Officer. In his case, he just may have been a 'targeted assassination'. In other words, a 'revenge' hit.

I think police should check the retired police officer for a possible connection. Perhaps someone wanted to get back at the retired officer.

Do you even live in the DC area? White trucks all the time- handymen, plumbers, you name it.

Just drove through your area this weekend. Couldn't believe how many white trucks there were even at 5:00-6:00 a.m. Saturday.
Have to share this: Stopped for gas north of Charlottesville and was scared out of my wits. Had to go into the store to pay. I'm halfway across the parking lot and the Bud delivery man drops a stack of pallets. I jumped right out of my skin.
Anyway, I was amazed to see a State Trooper inside. Was wondering if they were posted everywhere or if that was just a good place for donuts.

Outstanding work.......you would'nt have info relating as to from which direction the rounds came would you ? Have the police determined pretty much where each shot was made from ??? Does he have a habit of firing from a certain direction ? The parks or the parking lots ? Does he face his targets or all are shot in the back ?

Stay Safe and again, ...... awesome post's !

No...only thing I do know was the EXXON shooting that invloved the State Trooper being at the scene at the time of the shooting...from what I could tell from news reports...it seems that the officer eluded to the shot coming over his head...and striking the victim in the back...

Other locations people mention a BOOM...can't tell if a BOOM were to be "echoing" in the back of a van or truck (maybe) or just plainly NOT usual urban noise that when heard surprises everyone.

I'm only able to recall two sniper positions that have been revealed to date. One of the shots I believe was from a wall on a church property - a dog alerted to the scent there...not sure which shooting it was...may have been the liquor store shooting.

The second one was the matted grass at the school shooting. I believe this is where they found a brass casing and the Tarot card.

I am also interested in the sniper nest location at each shooting.

There has been some discussion about a possible Ramada Inn connection, but I think the one in Spotsylvania may have been erroneously inspired by a false report - of a 'eyewitness' who wanted to get a day off from work...if you believe the press about that.....I don't.

Any corrections to my comments from memory are more than welcome. Thanks.

Having fired weapons in urban environments I will suggest that to try and track a shot from sound is gonna be extreamly tough. The noise will reflect off structures to the point one is "positive" it came from that way when in fact..........yada yada yada.

If ya'll get anymore on this subject please ping me if ya get time.

Stay Safe !!

Yes the wall was on the chuch wall, recall it being decribed about waist high...and it was the DC shooting...where the guy was shot walking down the street.

The school shooting...was the matted grass...tarot card and casing.

Intersting though...they are using bloodhounds and are walking areas along frontage roads, where there is brush and trees...this doesn't look like an investigation that is LOOKING for vehicles...I think the sniper shoots from trees/underbrush and then has the "time" to get to a get away vehicle...I think the cops may be wasting time on the all evasive "white van"...

Remember the BIG FLAP in DC about "video cameras" at all the street intersections...I think the sniper has a very good sense about "security devices" and has a good sense to avoid these devices...it will be a "candid camera" that catches this freak...

Yes, it was the shooting of Pascal Charlot, the Haitian man, at the corner of Georgia Ave. and Kalmia Rd., NW D.C. at 9:20 PM the evening of Thursday Oct. 3rd. According to a Washington Post article, a police dog alerted to the presence of gunpowder at a Presbyterian church at that corner. I believe I have read Charlot was waiting at the corner to cross the street.

This is the site I took a look at Saturday afternoon, and to which I observed you would have a clear line of sight to shoot from on the roof and upper stories of the Ramada Inn three or four blocks north of the site. The fact that a police dog alerted for gunpowder at that church wall need not mean that the shot that killed Charlot came from there.

The police have not been releasing info about the trajectory of the snipers' shots. They may be able to tell from what height the shots came. Charlot was shot in the neck. I think it would be easier to hit him there if you were shooting from above.

The second to the last sniper shooting (at the gas station in Manassas) I saw an officer holding up a piece of wood about 20-24 inches long...it was tilted back end up towards the pump at about an 10 degree angle...I was interested in that piece of footage because I believe he was trying to gauge the angle of the shot...and I do believe that the shots are being fired from the proverbial "grassy knoll" types of areas and NOT from a vehicle.

Someone mentioned that there have been no killings on Tuesdays. This combined with the sightings of both a white box van and an Astro van would fit a profile of a delivery person who might not have enough seniority to have a regular route and fills in on busy days or when someone else is off work for some reason.

Like the mail, Tuesdays are usually a 'light' delivery day since packages sent on Fridays would normally be delivered on Monday and most Monday shipments usually aren't delivered until Wednesday.

I would not be surprised if the shooter is a delivery person who would normally be expected top make short stops in neighborhoods/business parks/etc., where carrying something and staying for just a short time would not draw attention. Possibly a military reject, for psychological reasons, who wanted to become a special forces type and is out to prove he can 'get the job done'?

exactly, Squantos.

further, a single shot is ridiculously hard to pinpoint, sometimes even in the open, influenced by the direction you're facing when the report goes off, further compounded by the confusion caused by the ballistic crack of the bullet as well as your position relative to the trajectory and/or the shooter.

add echoing and background noise and even getting a general direction of the shot is a daunting task.

That's interesting about Tuesdays and deliveries. So, if that theory has anything to do with the sniper(s), then there should be no shootings on Wednesday, because Monday was a holiday of sorts. On the other hand, many people worked today so that may not be the case.

Do you realize why insurance companies suggest WHITE and YELLOW cars as being the safest to drive...because people's brains "SEE" them...and I suspect it is easier for the brain to remember a "white truck or van" I think the white van scenario will playout.

I think we will find that the sniper is using a GPS tracking device...and after the shot...RUNS through a body of woods...and will always find his car no matter which ever way he goes...he has a PERFECT TOY...even if his car is parked up to a mile away...can't get lost...if he is diverted from his path...can't get lost...I still think his car is being nestled among others a ways off so WHEN he does leave...no one is going to be able to see him leave from a visual distance of the scene of the crime.

I also won't be surprised if he begins shooting over bodies of water...like a narrow river...it will allow him a NATURAL BARRIER and will buy him time to back track from the shooting spot. PLUS a river will allow him an UNOBSTRUCTED shot and will cut down on eyewitness between him and the victim.

Gonna be out of pocket tonight...I have "Election Judge Training" so I can ward off the attacks of evil Demoncrts on Nov 5th and stop dead folks from voting...I'll peek in later...have fun and pray that this sniper creep is destroyed tonight.

Are there 'car pool' parking lots in the area?

So what does all of this useless information mean?
This is "waz happenang mang!"

#1 There are 2 moslems working together.(simple deduction:Occums Razor, we are at war)

#2 A shooter is laying in the the prone shooting position in the back of a covered pick up truck. Shooting thru a peephole in the tailgate.

#3 The other guy is the calm getaway driver and lookout.

#4 They always park the truck with the bed facing the target. Its not camper type cover, that would draw attention from the cops. They are looking for a van.

#5 The lookout gets out of the vehicle and not only watches the surrounding area. But tells the shooter when its clear to pull the trigger via cell phone.

#6 The bed of the truck has a flat canopy. It is well insulated to keep the sound at a mininum. The direction of the suppressed sound is difficult to pinpoint.

#7 After the shoot, the driver calmly goes back to the truck and obeying the all traffic laws drive away while listening to the police chatter on scanners.

explanation: This is how I would do it, if I were a bad guy.

Local news showed investigators cutting parts of bushes near a parking lot near the last shooting. My bet is the sniper positioned himself and his vehicle to shield the view from the road (bushes) and from the building using the parking lot (vehicle) while shooting.

Tonight's shooting is at the Michael's identified with the Number I on the link of the map of all the Michael's stores.

Greta van Sustern is discussing the 'coincidence' after saying she is not familiar with the chain, as she is not the 'craft' type.

Would it be possible to have detail on which general part of the body (head, torso) was hit in each case (for shooter methodology consideration)?
