you would rather be shot by a .223 than by a .45 handgun round

Yeah, but you can't fire a .45 round through a handgun with any decent accuracy at long distance.

Perhaps she was an employee? Normally, when working retail on the closing shift, you can expect to stay an hour or so to straighten the store.

As for the weapon itself, I'll go against the law-enforcement grain and guess that it's a scoped bolt-action rifle.

I'm not so sure. I am an AR-15 shooter, and a lot of guys get really into them. I have never seen a guy sit around shooting a .223 bolt action all day, but I have seen lots and lots of guys sitting around shooting scoped AR-15's all day.

Plus, my guess is that if they recovered any brass that you could tell by the marks if it was fired by a semi-auto or not.

The other thing I wonder is if this guy might be using some sort of silencer. The cops should check public garbage cans for 2-liter coke bottles filled with cotten.

I think that Home Depot is open at least until 11 PM and might be open 24 hours. I've been to that Home Depot late at night when the one nearest to my home was closed.

"Perhaps she was an employee? "

Check out if she was carrying the day's receipts.

Oh I know, It was just that I thought that the survival rate of an average .223 wound was much greater than what we are seeing here.

Anyone who would rather be shot by a .223 than a 45ACP is an idiot. .223 has far more energy and if using expanding bullet, will literally explode in its target.

So will the people on the other threads take back what they said about the police being idiots for not jumping to conclusions and proclaiming the Marine guilty?

Of course not! He's a Marine, he must be guilty. The continued shootings just go to show how good Marines actually are!

How many shootings take place normally each year in the DC area? Maybe someone knows. We are going to be on edge going after all of them!

I don't think so. Stores like that do too much business to have an employee take $$ to the bank. Armored normally picks up the cash, and everything else is done electronically.

So will the people on other threads take back what they said...

Chief Moose was emphatic from the git-go that the Baltimore man was not their perpetrator. It is apparent that part of what they have, which they've been keeping close to their vests, is a ballistics analysis which shows that the cartridge case found at a previous shooting had marks which were not consistent with being fired/extracted by an AR-15. They know, with a reasonable amount of certainty, what manufacture of weapon the shooter is using, and a "black rifle" isn't it...
