Fox News Alert ^ | 15 Oct 2002 | DCBryan1

Shepard Smith on Fox News just confirmed that anti-gun MD Gov. Paris Glendening has, by executive order, made illegal ANY discharge of a projectile weapon in four (4) counties around Washington DC.

This ban also includes bow/arrow and muzzloading hunting that are about to come into season, and all practice and recreational shooting.

Looks like Paris Glendining is using the sniper as a tool to get what he wants...a total firearm ban in MD.

HEY PARIS! DO YOU THINK THAT BY PASSING THIS EXECUTIVE ORDER (READ LAW BY PEN) THAT THE SNIPER WILL CEASE ALL SNIPING?!

Idiot politicians. None of them have been shot (yet).

Does Glendening think this will really stop the sniper(s)? Or does he think it will head off some vigilant action? What a stupid order right now.

Yep, this'll make the enemy soldiers quake in their sandy oil-stained boots alright.

"Is violation of this executive order a felony or misdemeanor? I mean I don't want to really get in trouble!" -a direct quote from the DC Sniper upon hearing of the governor's unanticipated brilliant strategy.

I just hope we nab the sniper in VA. Fairyland doesn't have the stomach to do to him what we would do.

Do you not understand the reason for it? How many guns are fired during hunting season? Do the cops need to be chasing down hundreds of reports of shots fired at this point in time? Hunters can go elsewhere if they just HAVE to hunt.

Gee. If he's a felon, he couldn't carry a gun anymore! The irony.

If the law against murdering someone didn't stop this sniper, what makes the governor think this will?????? Intelligent minds want to know.

I guess we can send law enforcement home. They cannot use their firearms to stop the sniper without breaking the law. . .

Wouldn't want them losing their jobs because they violated the total ban on firearms discharge. And I really don't think it is in the job description to catch a violent criminal with butterfly nets.

Good point. That pesky Constitution. If they admitted that Maryland is considered a war zone, I'd be more understanding. Right now, it's just a crime ridden area.

IF this doesn't motivate the GOP base, nothing will. The projected turnout for GOP'ers should go up significantly after this gets circulated.

Given the accuracy this sniper has displayed, only those reports of gun fire within range of a victim need to be attended to. The governor of Maryland is an idiot.

Please tell me that you are kidding. I would hate to think that a Freeper was stupid enough to write this statement and mean it. I'm telling myself that you have to be parodying the idiot liberals, but I'm not totally sure.

waddafoo.

I wonder what would happen if all the people in these counties disregarded the e.o. A little civil disobedience might go a long way. Someone ought to tell him that lawful gun owners will only comply with his order until the next killing. After that, he'll know that his order is useless.

First of all, hunters are already in a shotgun only zone. I don't even think you are allowed to use a rifle to hunt in Maryland. I don't think too many people will be too keen on walking around suburban Maryland with long guns for quite some time. If they do, they have a need to see Darwin.

I am sure the sniper feels a whole lot safer now! How's this for a catch 22....You have a pistol in your posession, you see the sniper and dispatch him without hesitation, only to face a 20 year conviction for violating the governors order and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit. It would happen you know.
