I think we should put Saddam on the back burner, and keep watching him carefully. But direct our big effort to Iran, Saudi Arabia, and North Korea?

Here's more:
"...Tomorrow will tell if my guess is correct, but here it is: they'll take the position that sure, North Korea has nukes, and (contradicting their earlier position) sure, Saddam has them or nearly so. And there we go beating up on Saddam and not on North Korea. Unfair! Unfair!!"

Is it my imagination, or does this pic show Mad Maddie's attempt to put a girlish flip to her hair? (I seem to recall her calling Kim Jong Il "charming.")
Maddie: "OK, let's repeat the toast for the press."
KJI: "All right. They'll like that."
[ later ... ]
Maddie: "Here, Mr. Kim. Just one more toast."
KJI: This is the 14th toast, Madeline.
Maddie: "There are a lot of photographers, and they all need a chance. Just one more toast."
KJI: "Wellllll, all right. But that's a lot of toasting.... Hm. Did you do something with your hair?"
[ later ... ]
Maddie: "C'mon Kimmy. Just one more toast. That's the last photographer."
KJI: "Wellllll, all right. But 37 toasts seems a bit... did I tell you how lovely you look? You really do look lovely. Veerryyy lovely, if you know what I mean."
Maddie: (blushing) "Ohhhh, Kimmy. (giggle) Give me five minutes to get into something more comfortable...."
The mind reels....

It just gets worse & worse- clinton, the "legacy" that just never stops giving:
"We were supposed to take their word: Nobelist Jimmy Carter. Clinton sent no inspectors, just the reactors and the money. They now have bombs. Gee, who'd a thunk they'd a done that..."
"The latest Chapter of the Clinton legacy..."
"The inspectors found nothing. That helped warm up talks..."

Hullo, error... thanks for looking.
I do wonder sometimes who sees this stuff, and what, if any, effect it has.
I don't have a link, but I remember saving a WSJ print article about how "Canadians were outraged that they had been targeted by North Korea for missile attack..." It seems that NK decided hitting Chicago would enrage America too much, so they picked a Canadian city ( can't recall which one it was... ) to "show us they were serious..."
This was, of course, during The Golden Age of Clinton, so the Jackal Pack Press was obediently silent about it. But I remember it well- it was right after NK nearly hit Alaska with one of their shoots.

you said
"I do wonder sometimes who sees this stuff, and what, if any, effect it has."
You know, I went through a period of time that I sincerely felt the republic was already lost and that I would just withdraw from the debate about it. I guess 8 years of Clinton did not help my view of the future. I studied and analyzed "why" and "what happened" hoping in vain that somehow if we could figure out when or where things went wrong, we could somehow then manage to fix the problem.
What I figured out as the root-cause is that the world is just eat-up with dum-asses.
"Why" things went wrong and "When" things went wrong and "Who" caused things to go wrong became irrelevant.
The "people" - us - we - are responsible for the state of affairs. The founding Fathers left it to us and we blew it.
I still have a dark view of the future, I still think the republic is already lost, but somehow lately I have decided there is no reason that we should just pass quietly into the night.
Even if we know rape is enevitable, should we just lay down and spread our legs?
I guess what I'm saying is-
If we are going down, anyway, then let's go down swinging.
Our only hope seems to be to re-educate the people. Unfortunately, all of the efforts here on FR amount to little more than just preaching to the choir. The people who need to know this stuff are not in this classroom.

Well, there's many a time I ponder whether I should continue to go down battling, or just quit, stand back, and let the bleeding idiots that got us where we are fight over the remains of a once-great nation.
Those eight years of criminal clowns dividing up the country sure left a bitter aftertaste.
On the other hand, 9-11 convinced me that the regular people in this nation are worth trying to re-educate... I still don't think most of the elites are worth a hoot, but then, I never really did anyway.
I do notice a change in the public dialog & discourse... this article?
...is one reason to hold a little hope- the writer gets it almost half-right, but misses the bigger picture. Yes, talk radio- and far more than just Rush- helped the election. What she missed entirely is how it combines with the web to get timely information, not readily available elsewhere, to citizens.

Clinton warns North Korea // Says he'll not allow N-weapons
Steve Komarow

President Clinton - in some of his most strident language to date - warned Sunday he will not let North Korea develop a nuclear bomb.
Clinton , on NBC's Meet the Press, also declined to rule out a pre-emptive strike against North Korea 's nuclear facilities, from which international observers have been banned.
"We have got to stop the proliferation of nuclear weapons," Clinton said.

The only lists I have are for fundraising ( or emergency ) use- got too many rude letters from the ones I used a few years ago- but if I ever compile a general list, I'll keep you in mind.
