The men who killed two illegal immigrants by firing into a group of 12 border crossers near Red Rock on Wednesday likely loaded the survivors into a vehicle and drove off with them, officials said.

Mike Minter, spokesman for the Pinal County Sheriff's Department, said no tracks or blood trails were found yesterday leading away from the scene of the shooting, leading authorities to believe the survivors were shuttled away.

A clash between rival coyotes (possible, considering the money these illegal aliens typically pay), or was this a vigilante action to stop illegal immigration? This story has a lot more details than the initial report, posted yesterday.

It's a state statute: No one is allowed to detain another human being unless they are law enforcement," Garcia said. "And if you point a weapon at them when you detain them, it's kidnapping

Stupid statute IMHO. If someone is illeglly tresspassing on my private property, I can, should and will detain them until LEOs get there ... and I will do it with a gun.

Jeff, the Public Defender (Garcia) lied and the reporter (Borowitz) didn't check the facts. I've e-mailed him the relevant Arizona Revised Statutes and asked for a follow-up article or a correction. I'm not holding my breath!

Link to dupe thread.
The link goes to the same article, which I posted about 10 minutes after Tancred posted it. Some of the comments/replies are a bit different...but not by much!

Somthing not right here. They let ONE victim get away. If they had not done this, there would be no report of "soldier's shot at us", to indicate the suspects were in camo or military outfits and could be citizen patrol groups. Coyotes and smugglers don't dress like soldiers, do they?

And this happens just days after the simultaneous protests at the borders against illegals being killed in the desert. Just sounds like these protesters might have cooked this up to start a "fire". I am speculating because of the corruption involved with these border groups and seeing protesters wearing bandanas to hide their faces, etc.

"It's like a green light"

Speaking of green lights, Garcia, did you see one on at the border? Didn't think so.

Governments exist in the first place because people unite and form them to acquire order, and mutual protection of their familes and goods. When goverment becomes corrupt, it breaks down, order breaks down, and some adrift citizens will attempt to attend to the functions that a corrupt government has forsaken, along with the citizens it is suppose to represent.

But like the article says, this was a fight between cyotes. She just wishes it were citizens.
