Somehow I don't find it at all surprising that Moose is in bed with the Muslims. That explains his reluctance to release info that pointed toward a particular minority group.

I have a theory too (which in the end is likely to provoke yet another theory. More on that later.)

500 years ago, the folks gathered around the marketplace of rural Romania would attribute random killings in the village to some vampire. 200 years ago, random killings in Bavaria would be attributed by the village folk to a wolfman (I'm being loose with my history now. Indulge me for a minute, will ya?!) 30 years ago Godfather, the movie was immensely popular here, and such killings might have been attributed to the Italian mafia.

Today? Well, there is no evidence whatsoever available to us the public to link this sniper to anything, to any group, or to any particular movement! There is however a history, a tradition, if you will, in this country (unlike in most or all other countries) of random killings. Feature movies have been made on this subject and similar sniper attacks have been occurring for the past 30-40 years. Postal workers, gun nuts, frustrados, transients, all red blooded Americans! Islamic terrorists this time? Maybe, but the occurrence of 9/11 alone doesn't make it so. It only infects our minds with crazy theories! I figure if Ted Kaczynski's rampage were occurring today, the poor abused religion of peace would be blamed on these pages.

As far as that other theory that I expect this theory to provoke? Why, it'll state unequivocally that this cat must be the sniper him/herself using diversionary tactics.

I tend to agree with you, we have the tapes from Afghanistan demonstrating AQ training for this type of assault.

Did you see Moose today talking about how our very freedom as Americans and our way of life was under attack? That doesn't sound to me like he thinks it's a homegrown nutcase.

I just wish there was something constructive that I could do...watching this on TV is extremely frustrating and that message today regarding our children is absolutely infuriating. I pray that Moose and his crew get this guy SOON.

Our French sniper is probably Muslim, an immigrant to France, perhaps... and is loose here. He'd be able to move in western society easier than a middle eastern born arab with no exposure to the West.

Couple of problems here.

The French did not say he was a sniper, only a good shot. The sniper tag was added here on FR.

The guy is only a 2LT so he hasn't been in the service too long. Doubt he has advanced training in much of anything.

The Military school he was enrolled in only takes those born in France. He might still be Muslim, France and Spain are full of them, but he must be native born.

I posted the LA Times article about the broken English in the sniper letter found at the Ponderosa. I also believe there is a strong possibility this is an international terrorist. I had not thought about the French muslim Moussaoui, Reid and Johnny Jihad all being held and tried in Virginia.

IF this is foreign terrorism and the taskforce has knowledge of it they are in BIG trouble when it gets out. They better not keep us in the dark like they did with the threat against children today. They only fessed up when the media kept putting the pressure on, otherwise they wouldn't have said anything.

I also posted that it may be possible that they are posing as police or media at the scene and leave after the roads are cleared. Otherwise there is a mosque nearby.

Why do I feel as if this country is protecting a certain group of people in this country right now because if the truth came out...the government would lose control of the population and the rest of the population would take matters into their own hands.

Please explain this part to me. The Republicans would love to be able to say that this was AQ and backed by Iraq. Elections would go their way and DemoRATS who opposed the President would look like fools.

What do you think Americans would do? Cities have been burned, buildings collapsed, riots in the streets and people are more interested in what's on at the movies.

I do not disagree with what you say but not in this case.

That school only takes NATIVE born and most enlisted Legionnaires are "supposed" to be foreign born. Plus his age was right to be a normal 2nd Lt at that school.

The cops were watching this pay phone booth yesterday. 2 illegal immigrants pull up to it and we know the rest of the story. I came up with a theory today that I wanted some opinions on.

I think your theory is bunk. It's the number the undocumented workers called that triggered their capture. [It's the number the shooter(s) provided to LE on Saturday.] They were duped or manipulated to make that call.

The shooters were doing an experiment, and the cops showed their @$$ on that one.

What I meant was the threat of Muslims being picked off by gun owning private citizens. Not all out anarchy but people taking matters into their own hands. That is what I speak of. You know damn well there are a huge portion of Americans calling this "Oh probably some right wing whacko who is doing this to get back at the government." Sound familiar? Like those Anthrax attacks? "Oh it has to be some white right wing nut job out there doing this", yeah...the Republican party wants to be the ones to turn loose this info right now and then something happen and it blows up in their faces.

Maybe after elections?
