Rita is saying that the cops thought they were looking for Mohammed when the phone booth incident happened the other day.. That Mohammed or Malvo was staying in the econo-lodge across the street from the payphone that the mexicans were arrested it. DNA was gathered from Malvo from the motel. Also, Rita said a weapon was taken from the car.

It sure seemed scary when no info was being released to the public and we all thought the cops had no clue who the sniper could be. But it seems like they really had their act together along, their perceived incompetence was probably a major factor in the perps letting their guard down enough to sleep at a rest stop. Let's hope this is the end of this mess..

I'll try to clear that up. Cops were monitoring the phone. They were looking for Malvo and Mohammed. At least Malvo was staying in the motel across the street. DNA was gathered at the motel, and it was linked to Malvo.
