State Police press conference
Driver said he saw a car that matched the description of the chevy. State trooper responded and verified the car and numbers. Trooper established perimeter with other police. Task force responded. 3:30am tactical response team arrested 2 sleeping individuals... AFrican american males.. one 20. one 40. Transportd to montgomery Co. Federal search warrant is beeing applied. (Forwhat???) Ok, for the car.

I'm missing for how long they were sleeping there before being arrested. Person asked about the 2.5 hour time period, didn't get the whole context.
Who sleeps in a rest area? Places give me the creeps.

The Caprice was checked out Oct 8th but ignored because of the fixation on white vans and white guys.
Yet a Caprice and two two darker skinned individuals were both spotted at shootings by Oct 3rd.

White van was probably used as well. The cops were looking at Malvo teh day of the phone booth raid, so a truck may have been in his name. Who knows.

Rita Cosby has been reporting this since late this afternoon...that helped them trace Mohammed back to Marion, AL. I think he told LE he was involved in a murder at a liquor store in the area...NOT a smart idea...that's where they got the cc they tried to use to deposit the $10 million extortion money...

I definitely remember Moose (or at any rate the description he gave out) going out of his way to state that the person was NOT black, but could have been white or Hispanic. This was in the early part of the investigation.
I remember wondering at the time, if the killers hadn't been seen or at best had only been glimpsed how they could rule this out. Very strange.
