MOSCOW — Chechen rebels holding hundreds of hostages in a Moscow theater shot and killed one captive and said they were ready to die for their cause, warning Thursday that thousands more of their comrades were "keen on dying."
A news agency reported, meanwhile, that the rebels had fired two rocket-propelled grenade rounds out of the theater Thursday night. It was not immediately clear where the grenades landed or if there were injuries.

AlJazeera got some pics from
inside the theater, apparently before the siege began. They aired a statement, supposedly from the terrorists.
Everyone keeps asking how AlJazeera gets all of this. I have to insist (and you can call me crazy if you want) that AlJazeera is an AQ organ. They are controlled by AQ, IMO, and they say whatever AQ's leadership tells them to say.

Would be mighty tempting to drop a smart bomb on Al-Jazeera's transmitter.

Why do all these article writers find it necessary to critique the play?

Al-Jazeera is like the slave that gets to enter the master's house... I thought, per Harry Belafonti, that that was Colin Powell.

There are no causes or national aspirations that justify the taking of innocent hostages.AARRGH! Once, just once, can we call one of these murderous rampages by its real name: Islamic terrorism. It's not some amorphous "cause" or "national aspiration" -- it's Jihad.
Can we hurry up and attack Iraq, please, so we can't hide behind the excuse of "needing Arab allies for the war" to spew this nonsensical and morally corrupt drivel?

< "warning Thursday that thousands more of their comrades were "keen on dying."
A lesson for France and Russia... THIS IS WHY YOU DON'T CAPITULATE TO ISLAMIC BACKED TERROR! Now if they are "keen on dying" let's expidite their wish.

Al- Jazzera- your partners in terror.

This was a tape delivered to al-Jazeera. It was probably shot by the Chechens last week someplace far from Moscow.

Thursday that thousands more of their comrades were "keen on dying."I think we are obligated to help them out...as long as their dying is on our convenience.

I think it's because Muslims are not allowed to kill each other except as spelled out in Sharia law. Infidels are another matter.

Russians need to send an airplane over Mecca and say it will be vaporized if the Chechnyan psychos raze the building & kill their hostages. Show this all over Russki TV. Also show Russian nuke tipped ICBMs pointed at Mecca.

The Russians do NOT mess around with hostage-takers, if I remember correctly. Didn't some Arabs capture a Russian guy as hostage for the release of somebody, and didn't the Russians send to the hostage-takers only the head of the person they wanted released?

Happened in Lebanon in the 1980s. I've heard different versions of the details. Russians slicing off ears, fingers, heads of the family members of the hostage takers. To secure the release of their own.

Like somebody said in another thread, if theater is blown up one ICBM missile goes toward Mecca, one toward Medina and third one toward Al Jazzeera. That's the only "language" Muslims understand.

Russia's reluctance to deal w/ Arab-backed terror, save for their own separatists, does not attest to a very high I.Q. Yes their economy stinks, and trading w/ Iraq, Iran, Syria, Libya and the like helps cash flow... but like all of western culture, no one can manage to see the forest through the trees. Aid and trade all gets converted into hostility toward the west and modernity when dealing w/ Arab culture.

based on Veniamin Kaverin's romantic novel Two Captains, which recounts the story of two students and their different destinies during the Soviet times
One of my favorite books. Just as interesting as the lives of Sanya and Romashka is Sanya's life-long fixation with learning the truth about an unfairly maligned lost Artic explorer.
Throughout the book, through his many setbacks and tribulations, Sanya maintains his honor and sticks to his motto: "Borot'sya i iskat', nayti i ne sdavat'sya" (To struggle and search, find and never give up).
A good motto for Vladimir Vladimirovich right now.

Al Jazeera IS Islamic Jihad ... in any shape or form ... hence the pro-terrorist spin they put on everything ... since Ted Turner hates Christians, maybe he can get a network job over there ...
