This is digusting news that Michelle uncovered. Heads should roll at the INS and James Ziglar should be fired immediately, but him and Montgomery County Executive Doug Duncan are way too busy promising Amensty and county services to illegal aliens. Look out Maryland, you should expect a big influx of illegal aliens after Doug Duncan's statement yesterday. Oh yeah, heads should also roll in Congress as well.

Good points all, and we can't expect politicians or anyone with any power to address these issues rationally. For just a few hundred dollars, a wack job was able to bring commerce to a near standstill in huge areas, scare the hell out of hundreds of thousands of citizens (rightly so) and untold millions of dollars spent on their apprehension, possibly to the detriment of other, ongoing investigations and duties.

We've also broadcast in excruciating detail to our friends and enemies alike our methods and procedures Law Enforcement uses, and how perpetrators of such horrors can improve their chances of eluding capture.

A great man once said "The Constitution is not a suicide pact". Apparently that knowledge hasn't sunk in quite yet.

One of the meatpuppets just mentioned the way the cops confirmed the notes were from the shooter. The letters would start with five stars at the top of the page.

The speculation is that they represent a popular band in Jamaica called The Five Stars Band or similar names.

Google spat out a few hits under "Five Star Band." Here's a link to an east African paper that mentions the band.

Then I broadened my search and came upon lyrics by the rap group called Killarmy which is essentially the Wu-Tang Clan. Here's a sample:

Just to add a little info, the boy and mother were released by an Immigration Judge, not an INS officer.
