Please don't take this the wrong way, but if you think electing Republicans (or anybody else) is going to do anything to stop the malaise that rots our civilization from its core then you're fooling yourself. Electing a new captain won't save a ship with her bottom ripped out.

Politics aren't the answer for a society composed of what C.S. Lewis called "men without chests". Only a spiritual renaissance, a rebirth of the spirit of orthodox Christianity within the hearts of Western man, can save us.

And I don't see any such rebirth on the immediate horizon. Such a renaissance would have many enemies -- not a few of which would be here on FR.

The weaknesses in the best system devised by man have been found, and many have taken advantage of those weaknesses. To participate in this process pushes one to fight fire with fire.

The problem is that a form of warfare is developing within this democracy. Can't blame those that are trying to ensure order and justice. Many people are frustrated at not being able to control this "decline in civilization"

The solution involves a spiritual revolution of sorts. Such a revolution will not occur overnight. There are specific alternatives.
