Orwell clearly had neither patience for such follies, nor any doubts of the need for democracies to be prepared to use force in their defense, pre-emptive or not. "Civilization," he said, rests ultimately on coercion. What holds society together is not the policeman but the goodwill of common men, and yet that goodwill is powerless unless the policeman is there to back it up. . . . Since pacifists have more freedom of action in countries where traces of democracy survive, pacifism can act more effectively against democracy than for it."That statement pretty much sums it up! I haven't even finished reading the thread and I had to comment on that!
Pacifists are truely parasits on democracy!

I'd humbly suggest one thing: To the sign saying "Must Americans Die for You to Learn?" I'd add "More."
"Must MORE Americans Die for You to Learn?"
Just my $ 0.02... ;-)

Thanks for that excellent suggestion. We do have a little problem of square inch restrictions. We hate trying to get the whole message on a poster board. It is very restrictive. However, your point is very good, and we'll see if we can use one of these ^ and fix it up!

Hey you are right, that ^ thing would work great! I looked again at the poster and it looks to me like it would fit above the words printed. Excellent!
(And thanks for taking my suggestion to heart ;-)

It's not that sweet mug they find intimidating. It is dogrobber's insistent use of logic, fact and reason. You go, guys.

Ah ha! Those signs account for the blank looks we get when we use logic on them! It is all so clear now. Thanks!

Bret, thanks for all your help! We might not be making a difference in their philosophy, but we sure do irritate them. That is a start. See you next week.

The weather here in the St. Louis area today was dreary, but those signs glowed brightly with so much TRUTH that Columbia must have seemed sunny indeed! We must NEVER FORGET how precious our FReedom really is. Thank you FReeper Patriots for FReeping yet again today!! God bless you all and God bless our Armed Forces!
