"...[John Muhammad] Williamss unit was sent to Operation Desert Storm to clear mines and bulldoze holes in enemy lines. A few nights before the invasion of Iraq, Sergeant Berentson awoke in the early hours to find his tent, with 16 sleeping men inside, on fire. Someone had tossed in a thermite grenade. Berentson, who was fed up with Williamss insubordination, immediately suspected Williams and told the Armys Criminal Investigative Division. Berentson says he last saw Williams being led away in handcuffs. Williamss military records make no mention of the incident; indeed, they suggest Williams had a distinguished gulf-war stint. But Berentson always kept Williamss name and dog-tag number in his wallet. He says he was not surprised to see Williamss face on television..."
Back to the current attacks:
"...A witness outside the Fredericksburg, Va., Michaels craft store, scene of a shooting on Oct. 4, reported a dark-colored vehicle with New Jersey tags leaving the scene. A woman calling the tip line on Oct. 7 said she had spotted a black man crouching beneath the dashboard in a dark Chevy Caprice. The woman was struck by the intensity of the mans stare. The agent on the tip line brushed her off. Were looking for a white truck, she said.

Looks like this guy wanted to be a
serial mass murderer! Similar M.O. to what terrorists would use in each case.
What does the UCMJ say about an American attacking U.S. forces during wartime? Would that be "premeditated unfriendly fire" or just treason?

I remember someone reporting a dark-colored vehicle after this attack, so some media must have reported it. Don't remember the NJ plates though. This really makes my angry. I can't believe that she was brushed off. Well, I guess that I can on second thought. Hope this case will change the ways that such investigations take place--without reducing our civil liberties!

I heard other day he was court-martialed twice for insubordination resulting in a rank decrease.

spycaster, thanks for posting this. You have truly ruined my day.
If this SOB is guilty of this act, he has been sheltered from justice due to the PCing of our military. He deserves to be brought up on appropriate charges and tried in a military court and then shot when found guilty.
How many more Nation of Islam anti Americans have been in our military and are in it do damage to our good service people.

Why do they have a tip line if they don't take tips?

To: alisasny
Incendiary hand grenade.
The radius of the burst is approximately 6 meters, but fragments of the plastic body occasionally fly as far as 27 meters. Effective portions of the agent may be carried as far as 75 to 100 meters downwind. Personnel using these grenades should wear protective gas masks.
Incendiary Grenades
The AN-M14 incendiary (thermite) hand grenade is cylindrical in shape and has a sheet metal body with emission holes in the top (fig. 12-4). It weighs 32 ounces and contains a filler of 26.5 ounces of TH3 thermite mixture. It uses an igniting fuze that sets fire to the thermite filler after the normal delay. The thermite filler bums for approximately 40 seconds at a temperature of about 4300°F. A portion of the thermite filler changes into molten iron that flows out of the grenade and produces intense heat over a small area. This molten iron ignites or fuzes whatever it touches. It is used to ignite combustible materials and to destroy all types of equipment. It burns through about one-fourth inch of steel and welds together steel or iron machinery parts when molten iron flows between them.

Those of us who knew the Black Racist POS PC Moose from his PC actions as Chief of Police in Portland, Oregon, said at the start of the sniping fiasco: That the good leads in the first day or two of the sniping were lost so they could pursue the white racists driving the white van Bravo Sierra.
You might want to go to the link to a thread I posted this past weekend on this issue: (Police spotted suspects' car 10 times during sniper spree (PC killed more innocents! link)

Tax-payer funded overtime for the union workers.
The longer it goes unsolved, the bigger the paychecks.

To: spycatcher
I agree that it is bad the woman's tip was "brushed off". But the problem is that they had 70,000 tips and only a dozen or so were valid. So their brush off ratio of good tips to bad tips has to be pretty good. :)
Hindsight is always 20 20. Not long ago many here were complaining because not enough info was being released. No composite etc narrowing the search. Now we're complaining because they were looking for a specific vehicle.

Lesson #1 -
Always report your tips to Free Republic or the press,
in addition to any tip line you might use.

I think the grenade heat is fairly localized. No doubt they all could have died had they been trapped.
To: kjam22
HOw many of those 70,000 were on the actual scene of a shooting?
How many reported people crouching under dashboards in the parking lot near a shooting?
This tip should instantly have been recognized as being significant enough for further investigation.
The reason it was dismissed is the most shocking of all - b/c it wasn't a white van. They didn't have any solid information at the time that the white van was what was used by the actual shooter.
I question the tip line operators ability to rank the value of information received.

The only people who ever believed the "whine van" yarn were the gullible boobs who get all of their information from the teevee.
Unfortunately a lot of people who work for the police are gullible boobs who get all of their information from the teevee, too.

Effective portions of the agent may be carried as far as 75 to 100 meters downwind. I question the tip line operators ability to rank the value of information received. However, if the tip line operators were rejecting leads about a Caprice, that does not jibe with the claim made recently by CNN that an alert was put out for the Caprice on October 7th - and that in turn does not jibe with the report that a cop checked out Muhammad sleeping in the Caprice on October 8th and let him go on his way. There is a lot of BS around here, and still no sign of a pony.

All your posts got Moosie pegged just right. Plus here the FBI manning the phone banks seem to be rock stupid too. My guess is the FBI pressed many ordinary office personnel into manning their DC tip lines. And you know who dominates the Federal bureaucracy in Washington DC? Affirmative action Blacks, Hispanics etc. And that's no lie.
Minorities are over represented in our Federal bureaucracy in Washington DC. It's affirmative action run wild and minorities hiring their own.

Is this why this scum had a "less than honorable" discharge from the military? Anyone know any details of his discharge - or will the PC merchants keep that under wraps? Disgusting.
To: riri
I believe he converted prior to entering the military, which makes me wonder if the motive of his entry into the military was to subvert and attack it from within. Perhaps someone else suggested the idea to him to attack the country by entering the military and he was ready and willing to do so.
To: twigs
They set up those two illegals.
More than likely the illegals had flyers on bulletin boards in stores and laundries telling about what type of work they would do with the little tear off phone numbers slips attached to the flyers. Or they had their phone # on their white van.
The Nation of Islam serial killers got their number, called them and told them to meet them in that school parking lot and if they weren't at the school to go to that filling station to wait for a phone call at that phone booth. Then the Nation of Islam Serial Killers made sure that Moose notified the police on the Virginia side to monitor that phone booth.
The Illegal Aliens show up and were noticed by the mother with the cell phone. They drove to the phone booth and may have even gotten a call from the Nation of Islam serial killers. Then all hell broke loose.
It was a setup. There was no way that over 100 ATF, FBI, Va State Police and the local police just happened to be monitoring that phone booth, at that filling station at that time of day.
To: dennisw
You are right on the Politically correct make up of the staffs in the DC metro area.
I doubt if many FBIers from secretary to agent were in that command center the first day or two. They didn't know what they were dealing with at first. So the local cops would have managed the program at first. Then later on it would have even been worse with all the PC agencies trying to run the info center.

I can't say about the military, but my sister used to work for the FL prison system and she said virtually 100% of black inmates convert to Islamic upon entering the system because it gives them more privledges. It allows them to goof off in the name of an accepted religion.

This whole thing is weirder than h*ll. I am still extremely suspicious about the fact that the sniper himself was anxious to get the Montgomery AL tip through. Couple that with the "duck in a noose" statement -- it seems that the capture of these guys is part of a bigger plot. Yikes. /tinfoil

Perhaps someone else suggested the idea to him to attack the country by entering the military and he was ready and willing to do so. I also think he was encouraged to do his thing this month while all the other terror attacks were scheduled worldwide. Probably just heard mosque "chatter" and decided to volunteer.
To: Grampa Dave
The implications of this case, in highlighting our inadequacies in law enforcement, screening of our military, special treatment of minorities, and immigration law enforcement, are staggering.
Muhammad's Louisiana National Guard commander (sorry, don't know the rank), was interviewed on Fox this AM. He described Muhammad in much the same way his army sergeant did: an accident waiting to happen. The commander said he'd done Army recruiting, and the fact that Muhammad was accepted into the Army, -- apparently without a background check which would have turned up two court-martials in the National Guard -- was inexcusable.
I was waiting for someone in the press to investigate his service in the Gulf War, and here it is, completely in keeping with his character.
As if the story of his being suspected of igniting the tent, and his past record in the Louisiana National Guard weren't enough, after he left the Army, he joined the Oregon National Guard, despite the fact that he never legally lived in Oregon.
What a black eye on the Army and National Guard, and what an injustice to the brave and patriotic men and women who serve with honor in those services.

How many convert to Islam while in the military. Particularly, how many converted during the Gulf War?
John Muhammad converted to Islam long before the Gulf War.
(Ex-wife Carol Williams) "said Muhammad converted to Islam after divorcing her 17 years ago, about the time he joined the Army."
LINK
FR LINK
Muhammad (then Williams) served at the Fort Lewis Army Base outside Tacoma, in 1985.
But it wasn't until April 2001, that the former John Allen Willams legally changed his name to John Allen MUHAMMAD)
Another, possibly related story:
No one was ever charged in a triple slaying on August 1, 1984, but police suspect Fuqra. The victims were Lela Nevaskar, an Indian national who was in the United States as part of a government-sponsored health project, and her sister and brother-in-law. The three were murdered in a suburb of Tacoma, Wash., during a spate of firebombings of Hindu and Hare Krishna temples in Seattle, Denver, Philadelphia, and Kansas City, Mo. Police found news reports of the Tacoma murders from Seattle papers among Fuqra files seized in a later case
LINK
I wonder if any of the Fuqra trails in the 1984 Tacoma murders lead to Fort Lewis, where John Muhammad was serving in 1985?
Does anyone know if Muhammad (as Williams) converted to Islam before or after being stationed at Fort Lewis?

Post here to the thread if you'd like to be on or off the Sniper Muhammad ping list.

This is outrageous! Everyone who was shot and killed after October 7 died unnecessarily.
I would have called my local police at 911, despite the Task Force's insistence that one should not do this, but rather direct all tips into their incompetent pipeline.

Someone capable of randomly picking off pretty much anyone who walked into his gun sights, day after day, must be in the thrall of some frothing-at-the-mouth psychosisif not the Devil, certainly his disciples. Right? Some top federal officials had suspected that the snipers were Qaeda assassins.I see no difference between these morons and Al Qaeda assassins. Al Qaeda is made up of crazy murderous Muslims and John Muhammad is a crazy murderous Muslim. Bin Laden would have gladly approved of John Muhammad's making mayhem in and around our nation's capital.

I was waiting for someone in the press to investigate his service in the Gulf War, and here it is, completely in keeping with his character.
Check this out:
Neighbors said that back around 1992, roughly the same time Muhammad lived in the Pinole house, FBI agents questioned them about the man."A long time ago, (the FBI) came over here and asked people about the people across the street," said a 21-year-old neighbor who refused to give his name. The neighbor said he and his parents lived on the street at the time. He added that the family believed the FBI questioning was related to Muhammad's military service.
During that military service, Muhammad was stationed at Fort Ord in Monterey County, as well as other places. He served in the 1991 Persian Gulf War.

Have you got the links on his Oregon National Guard Service? Do you know where he was stationed and when?

Nation of Islam Serial KillersSo it is up to us to label these serial killers as Nation of Islam Serial Killers!
I'm not using the typical word, radical. I don't think these two Nation of Islam Serial Killers are all that abnormal in the world of the Nation of Islam Serial Killers.
