News Photographer Catches UFO On Tape

A photographer for a television station in Albany, N.Y., caught an unusual object on his camera while shooting a story for the local 10 p.m. news, according to a Local 6 News story.

Brandon Mowry filmed the fast-moving unidentified metallic flying object Oct. 20 while shooting a weather story.

Mowry said that he didn't notice the fast-moving object zooming across the sky until he went back to his station and watched the video.

The television station sent their tapes to the FBI and now an investigation is under way to determine exactly what the object is.

"It seems to be long and narrow and symmetrical and traveled at a high speed," retired U.S. Air Force pilot Graham Pritchard said. "However the fact that that was not reflecting any kind of light that was more like a shadow type appearance and the little white dots on each sides of it are not similar to any kind of missile that I have seen."

The FAA said that the object never showed up on local radar.

Looked like a surface to air missile to me.

long, thin fuselage... with fins and stabilizers symetrically located on opposite sides, like an old "estes" rocket kit, towards the nose and the tail end.

difference is, it's estimated speed was supposedly VERY high, and it supposedly did not show up on radar.

I dont see anything but a plane in the very bottom picture...

If anyone thinks the very top picture is a missile then it isnt proportionate to the plane shown....whatever it is...it is at a much lower altitude.

Rods are insects that are blurred because they are traveling/flapping their wings faster than the shutter speed on the video camera.

I hear you but if it is supposed to be at the same altitude as the aircraft then it is way way too big to be any missile aimed at the plane....it would have to be a supersized ICBM with additional fuel tanks added to be that large in comparison to the plane.

Those are the images captured from the video and are the ones we are talking about. Look at the video, it looks like a missle shot at that plane. The FBI confiscated the original tape from FOX.

I don't know what Rods are, but they do appear to be something as yet unidentified. This footage was on the local news here, and it was definitely a "rod".

Check out the www.Roswellrods.com site. The guy had footage of base jumpers going off a cliff, and one rod zooming to within inches of the jumper, turning over 90 degrees, and zooming off. What is odd is the rod does it in four frames, and would have been for all intents, invisible to the naked eye.

One of the videos of the WTC on 9/11 had a rod, which FBI initially thought was a missle chasing the plane. It was on Drudge's front page, top story - he had an animated gif showing it move about 4-500 feet in three frames over the world trade center, right as the second plane hit. Wierd stuff, but the slowed down video doesn't seem to lie.

The arms going off the side are theorized to be stiff supports for a clear membrane which surounds the organism, for the length of it's body. When the arms wave up and down, it waves the membrane, which provides propulsion. Could be, I can't say.

I agree some of the pics are clearly bugs, but others are pretty clearly too large, and moving way too fast. Also, the higher speed videos show a pretty clear structure that doesn't look to be identifiable as anything I've seen.

Not sure what they are, but I would love to know.

It could be something moving through the air or it could be something attached to an overhead utility cable. If it's a missile then it's motor hasn't fired, and it's *not* one of those damn "rods."

It's out of focus because it's closer to the camera than the aircraft, and it passes in front of the white cloud.

My guess, after many years of looking at "UFO" photographs, is that this is something attached to a wire.

Some have explained this as the video of a bug, like a dragonfly passing close to the camera at high speed. If the camera's shutter speed is too slow, the image of the bug blurs and the wings create the spiral blurs. I can't find a link to the debunk site right now.

The thing that tells me its not a bug is that it clearly is flying above the clouds on the right hand side of the picture near the end of the video.

I'm not a UFO buff as I don't believe extra-terrestrial life to exist, but whatever that thing was was haulin' ass that's for sure.

If it was a missile and if it had hit the plane instead of the apparent near miss(hard to say by the photos), we would be hearing about the 2nd incidence of a center fuel tank explosion.

Agree. In one of the final frames, the tail end of the object is masked by the cloud.
