Do you want to make a difference on election day and prevent voter fraud - which seems to largely be a Democrat offense?

Be a poll watcher or a challenger.

As much as I like to think I am well-informed, I just discovered that in my state, any one can stay at the polling place all day long and observe the process. You can probably even take videos or photos of everything but the actualy ballot stations and completed ballots.

Poll "watchers" can just show up and watch. Poll "challengers" officially represent a party or other group and have ID to confirm that fact. I was trained last night and will be a "cahllenger" on electiond day.

Make a differnce - help keep it clean.

Super Bump! If I had some vacation (I have to use what I have left for my 7 day old premi-son), I would take a full day to poll watch. Please, any retired or vacation bloated fellow freepers, do what NotWithStanding is asking. Go poll watch.

My area is heavy Republican, so I don't think fraud will be an issue, but I considered going into demonRat areas to poll watch, until my early suprise arrived.

Unfortunately, RATS have neutered poll watchers in California: A poll watcher can't speak to voters or challenge a voter’s eligibility to a poll worker.

No, but they can write down the violations in detail, go get some friends to witness the violations, or maybe even video tape or photograph the violations.

And poll "challengers" actually do have the right to challenge voters and ballots - which can impact a recount or a close election in which the disqualification of a few illegal RAT votes could make a difference.

Isn't it ironic? The U.S. exported "democracy" to other countries. It also sent out "election observers" to make sure elections in Third World countries were fair and impartial. Now, it has imported some of those Third World voting fraud practices. Maybe there should be "election observers" in the U.S. on Nov. 5.

With the Dems in desperation mode, we can expect them to engage in all kinds of less-than-ethical election practices. Here is a list of things to be on the lookout for:

Pre-election

Registering non-citizens, illegal aliens, etc.
Smear and fear tactics

During election:

Voting by non-citizens
One man many votes (multiple voting)
Voting on behalf of the deceased

Post-election:

Vote-counting irregularities
Cries of "disenfranchisement" by people who didn't get their way.
Frivolous law suits in close races

What other things might the desperate Dems try to pull around election time? Please help by adding to this list and watching out for them.

Florida voters, help prevent election fraud. Unless you area a poll worker or certified poll watcher, you may not remain inside the polling place for any reason other than to vote. HOWEVER, keep your eyes and ears open while you are there. ANY VOTER MAY CHALLENGE THE RIGHT OF ANOTHER TO VOTE. Here is the pertinent law:

101.111   Person desiring to vote may be challenged; challenger to execute oath; oath of challenged elector; determination of challenge.--

(1)  When the right to vote of any person who desires to vote is questioned by any elector or watcher, the challenge shall be reduced to writing with an oath as provided in this section, giving reasons for the challenge, which shall be delivered to the clerk or inspector. Any elector or authorized poll watcher challenging an elector at an election shall execute the oath set forth below:

(2)  Before a challenged elector is permitted to vote by any officer or person in charge of admission to the polling place, the challenged elector's right to vote shall be determined in accordance with the provisions of subsection (3). The clerk or inspector shall immediately deliver to the challenged elector a copy of the oath of the person entering the challenge and shall request the challenged elector to execute the following affidavit:

Any inspector or clerk of election may administer the oath.

(3)  If the challenged person refuses to make and sign the affidavit, the clerk or inspector shall refuse to allow him or her to vote. If such person makes the affidavit, the inspectors and clerk of election shall compare the information in the affidavit with that entered on the registration books opposite the person's name, and, upon such comparison of the information and the person's signature and the taking of other evidence which may then be offered, the clerk and inspectors shall decide by a majority vote whether the challenged person may vote. If the challenged person is unable to write or sign his or her name, the clerk or inspector shall examine the precinct register to ascertain whether the person registered under the name of such person is represented to have signed his or her name. If the person is so represented, then he or she shall be denied permission to vote without further examination; but, if not, then the clerk or one of the inspectors shall place such person under oath and orally examine him or her upon the subject matter contained in the affidavit, and, if there is any doubt as to the identity of such person, the clerk or inspector shall compare the person's appearance with the description entered upon the precinct register opposite the person's name. The clerk or inspector shall then proceed as in other cases to determine whether the challenged person may vote.

Here in California, voters don't have to provide any proof of identification. Tell me what a poll watcher is supposed to do about that.

With or without ID, I think most states require the voter fill out a form that has personal info (DOB, address, phone, etc.) before he can vote.

Poll workers are supposed to verify the info on the form with the info in the offiial log of registered voters. Challengers can ask to witness this comparison - challengers have a RIGHT to view any and all pages of the book of registered voters and the info on the would-be voters form. If the inof does not match, a challnger can demand that ballot be marked as challenged with a note as to why. If the election is close, that ballot can be open to legal challenge and possibly voided.

Things to look for: a group of voters arriving together as a group - check the info on their forms very closely - it may just be a DemonRAT vote-fraud-squad (in their case their squads try to commit the fraud rather than prvent it).

Hypothetical (I hope) question: My husband has already voted by absentee ballot, but I'm assuming his name will still show up on the printout list of registered voters at the polls. Wouldn't it be possible for someone to come in and sign his name and vote in his place, thus canceling out or superceding his absentee vote?

Are there any safeguards in place to prevent this from happening to absentee voters? (We're in MN, BTW)

In MI the list of registered voters will have absentee voters' names annotated as such (absentee ballot mailed), and in order to vote in person, they will need to sign an affidavit claiming they did not already vote absentee.
Nevertheless, I understand such ballots should be challenged, too, even with such an affidavit being signed. (We all know that no RAT would sign an false affidavit, don't we?)

Will be Poll Watching here in NC. We will have 2 Republican poll watchers per potential problem poll. In addition, there will be 1 Demonrat judge, 1 Republican judge and 1 chief judge which will be a Rat in our county.

This is my first time at poll watching...Should be veeery interesting!!!

Right. This just seems like such an easy way to get Republican absentee ballots tossed out or negated.

A couple of questions:

People can get false IDs, addresses, etc. What if they find out that someone is not a citizen after he/she has cast his/her vote?

Is there any way to invalidate a ballot cast by someone who is not eligible?

Seems to me that once a vote has entered the system, there is no way to identify who it came from without violating the principle of "secret" balloting.

Here in TX just heard a story about the new optical scan at early voting at a grocery store.

Hubby and wife went in and the clerk showed them how to use it by putting it on Straight Dem ticket. They figured it out and voted Rep. but in the parking lot compared what happened and then went in to talk to the election judge. She yawned.

so they asked for the Republican judge and there wasn't one. If we don't have someone at EVERY early voting and every election then we are at fault.

A friend has told me that the County republican office is BEGGING for workers. But Reps. have jobs (unwilling to take off for mininum wage) on vacation, too sick or JUST NOT THAT KIND OF GUY.

EVERY freeper needs to call and see if there is a place inside to WORK the election so as to have more power than a watcher. Which is better than nothing.

We must work hard to overcome such cheating.

I have been a poll watcher for early voting in my county, and I feel it's made a difference. I will poll watch on election day too. Call your local rep headquarters or state headquarters and find out the rules.

You would think after all that has gone on here they would show a little more interest in someone volunteering their time. Tommorrow I'll call them up for the last time.
