From the article:
In 1974, Dr. Brandon Carter, a theoretical physicist then at Cambridge, now at the Paris Observatory in Meudon, pointed out that these coincidences were not just luck, but were rather necessary preconditions for us to be looking at the universe. After all, we are hardly likely to discover laws that are incompatible with our own existence.
That's pretty much how I see it. If our existence were somehow demonstrated to be inconsistent with the universe, then that would be evidence of a miracle. Consistency seems natural, not miraculous. You can't have it both ways.

"For the scientist who has lived by his faith in the power of reason, the story ends like a bad dream. He has scaled the mountains of ignorance, he is about to conquer the highest peak. As he pulls himself over the final rock, he is greeted by a band of theologians who have been sitting there for centuries."

"Science indeed is discovering God and revealing the wonder of His creation. At the levels of the unimaginably vast cosmos, and at the level of the microscopic, evidence is accumulating that favors belief in God. Scientists, previously committed to a naturalistic, materialistic, atheistic worldview, are admitting that there is much more to the universe, the world, and life than they previously suspected."

"Astrophysicist Paul Davies writes that the laws of physics "seem themselves to be the product of exceedingly ingenious design," and says further that there now exists "powerful evidence that there is 'something going on' behind it all." Another scientist, George Greenstein, is even more pointed in his remarks: "As we survey all the evidence, the thought insistently arises that some supernatural agency -- or, rather, Agency -- must be involved. Is it possible that suddenly, without intending to, we have stumbled upon scientific proof of the existence of a Supreme Being? Was it God who stepped in and so providentially crafted the cosmos for our benefit?" American astronaut Gordon Cooper expressed his conviction that the subtle workings of the vast universe around us were themselves evidence of God: "The more one learns about scientific endeavors, the more one is convinced of the wonders of God's creation. The more one contemplates the complex workings of millions of planetary bodies, and the unknown immensity of space, the more one realizes what a fantastic miracle it all is." We are reminded that even Albert Einstein, though he steadfastly rejected the notion of a personal God, still came to the conclusion later in his life that the universe had a beginning, and that "a superior reasoning power" had to be responsible for this beginning."

"When we look closely at the universe, we see the hand of God. Likewise, when we view the complex underlying structure and chemistry of life, indications of God's work are unmistakable. Scientists, only a few decades ago, were confident that they would soon crack the mystery of life, and would very likely be able to "create" life in test tubes, using only raw chemicals. But the mechanics of life soon proved beyond the most clever of scientists. Sir Francis Crick has noted that the "origin of life seems almost to be a miracle, so many are the difficulties in its occurring." Another scholar, Klaus Dose, says that the... solutions(material/atheist)---to the difficulties in origin-of-life research are "beyond our imagination."

So, I didn't fail my physics final because my answers were incorrect,
but rather because the exam was corected in an non-compliant universe.

Yes, I watched that NOVA with great interest. Galilleo was a genius of the first order, I plan on reading his "dialogue" as soon as time is available.

Aquote that he wrote in his own manuscript of that book that was banned for over TWO HUNDRED YEARS is telling, and wise:

"Take note, theologians, you run the risk of someday having to condemn as heretics those who would declare, as you do, that the Earth stands still."

"If the universe, something which is not in and of itself intelligent, required an intelligent creator, wouldn't something that is intelligent need a creator as well?"

Silence!!

You are not supposed to ask that!!

I apologize if you appear to see my posting in triplicate.
However, if you see it that way, it might indicate that you have slipped into a universe of MORE than three dimensions.

Is Energy the Key?

"To create any kind of upward, complex organization in a closed system requires outside energy and outside information. Evolutionists maintain that the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics does not prevent Evolution on Earth, since this planet receives outside energy from the Sun. Thus, they suggest that the Sun's energy helped create the life of our beautiful planet. However, is the simple addition of energy all that is needed to accomplish this great feat?"12

"Compare a living plant with a dead one. Can the simple addition of energy make a completely dead plant live?"

"A dead plant contains the same basic structures as a living plant. It once used the Sun's energy to temporarily increase its order and grow and produce stems, leaves, roots, and flowers - all beginning from a single seed."

"If there is actually a powerful Evolutionary force at work in the universe, and if the open system of Earth makes all the difference, why does the Sun's energy not make a truly dead plant become alive again (assuming a sufficient supply of water, light, and the like)?"

"What actually happens when a dead plant receives energy from the Sun? The internal organization in the plant decreases; it tends to decay and break apart into its simplest components. The heat of the Sun only... speeds(link)---the disorganization process."

#12...

The 2nd Law of Thermodynamics is just as valid for open systems as it is for closed systems, says John Ross, Harvard University:

"...There are no known violations of the second law of thermodynamics. Ordinarily the second law is stated for isolated systems, but the second law applies equally well to open systems."

[John Ross, letter in Chemical and Engineering News, Vol. 58 (July 7, 1980), p. 40.]

"1 + 1 = 2" is a non-material truth limited neither to time nor place. An eternal, spiritual truth must be held in existence by an eternal, spiritual source of truth, a source which everyone calls God. QED.

OK, it's not a strictly mathematical proof.

Why? If it's eternal, perhaps it was always there ;)

Rom 1:19 For the truth about God is known to them instinctively; God has put this knowledge in their hearts.

Rom 1:20 Since earliest times men have seen the earth and sky and all God made, and have known of his existence and great eternal power. So they will have no excuse (when they stand before God at Judgment Day).

Rom 1:21 Yes, they knew about him all right, but they wouldn't admit it or worship him or even thank him for all his daily care. And after awhile they began to think up silly ideas of what God was like and what he wanted them to do. The result was that their foolish minds became dark and confused.

Rom 1:22 Claiming themselves to be wise without God, they became utter fools instead.

Rom 1:23 And then, instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they took wood and stone and made idols for themselves, carving them to look like mere birds and animals and snakes and puny men.

Rom 1:24 So God let them go ahead into every sort of sex sin, and do whatever they wanted to--yes, vile and sinful things with each other's bodies.

Rom 1:25 Instead of believing what they knew was the truth about God, they deliberately chose to believe lies. So they prayed to the things God made, but wouldn't obey the blessed God who made these things.

Rom 1:26 That is why God let go of them and let them do all these evil things, so that even their women turned against God's natural plan for them and indulged in sex sin with each other.

Rom 1:27 And the men, instead of having normal sex relationships with women, burned with lust for each other, men doing shameful things with other men and, as a result, getting paid within their own souls with the penalty they so richly deserved.

Rom 1:28 So it was that when they gave God up and would not even acknowledge him, God gave them up to doing everything their evil minds could think of.

Rom 1:29 Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness and sin, of greed and hate, envy, murder, fighting, lying, bitterness, and gossip.

Rom 1:30 They were backbiters, haters of God, insolent, proud, braggarts, always thinking of new ways of sinning and continually being disobedient to their parents.

Rom 1:31 They tried to misunderstand, broke their promises, and were heartless--without pity.

Rom 1:32 They were fully aware of God's death penalty for these crimes, yet they went right ahead and did them anyway and encouraged others to do them, too.

Rom 2:1 "Well," you may be saying, "what terrible people you have been talking about!" But wait a minute! You are just as bad. When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are talking about yourselves, for you do these very same things.

Rom 2:2 And we know that God, in justice, will punish anyone who does such things as these.

Rom 2:3 Do you think that God will judge and condemn others for doing them and overlook you when you do them, too?

Rom 2:4 Don't you realize how patient he is being with you? Or don't you care? Can't you see that he has been waiting all this time without punishing you, to give you time to turn from your sin? His kindness is meant to lead you to repentance.

Rom 2:5 But no, you won't listen; and so you are saving up terrible punishment for yourselves because of your stubbornness in refusing to turn from your sin; for there is going to come a day of wrath when God will be the just Judge of all the world.

Rom 2:6 He will give each one whatever his deeds deserve.

Rom 2:7 He will give eternal life to those who patiently do the will of God, seeking for the unseen glory and honor and eternal life that he offers.

Rom 2:8 But he will terribly punish those who fight against the truth of God and walk in evil ways--God's anger will be poured out upon them.

Rom 2:9 There will be sorrow and suffering for Jews and Gentiles alike who keep on sinning.

Rom 2:10 But there will be glory and honor and peace from God for all who obey him, whether they are Jews or Gentiles.

Rom 2:11 For God treats everyone the same.

Rom 2:12 He will punish sin wherever it is found. He will punish the heathen when they sin, even though they never had God's written laws, for down in their hearts they know right from wrong.

Rom 2:13 God's laws are written within them; their own conscience accuses them, or sometimes excuses them.

Rom 2:14 And God will punish the Jews for sinning because they have his written laws but don't obey them.

Rom 2:15 They know what is right but don't do it. After all, salvation is not given to those who know what to do, unless they do it.

Rom 2:16 The day will surely come when at God's command Jesus Christ will judge the secret lives of everyone, their inmost thoughts and motives; this is all part of God's great plan, which I proclaim.
