A Marin County man has died of head injuries he suffered while heading for that big weekend peace rally in San Francisco.
Two people were hurt when they hit their heads on a San Francisco building overhang after sticking their heads out of a skylight on a converted double-deck bus.
Officials at San Francisco General Hospital say Tony Hernandez died yesterday.
Diane Canning of Sebastopol remains in critical condition.
The bus had been converted by welding part of a V-W microbus on the roof. The skylight was in the V-W portion.

Even if they didn't vote absentee, someone will vote for them as that's what they would of wanted.

I'm sure he's already cast an absentee ballot in the 2004 presidential election. Terry McAuliffe just has to fill in the candidate's name.

LOL. You beat me to it.

he wanted peace... and he found it.

I really don't get any pleasure from hearing about the untimely deaths of anyone. But that is pretty damn ironic. The peace rally destination is one irony. The other is: what the hell is the deal with hippies and those stinking VW vans? They're still reusing old peices of VW vans?

Are you thinking that there are two skylights and the 2nd person popped their head out to find out what all the noise was about?

In San Fran, would that mean "Hold muh buns"?
To: Sweet_Sunflower29
And I'll bet the bus was uninsured too. Who will pay the survivors? The driver has a legal mess on his hands.

The owner of the bus will be where the liability, and hopefully the insurance is, IMO. Wonder who owned the bus?
To: Sally II
Gotta remember that Volks Vagon Vans were motorvated from the rear.
To: Sweet_Sunflower29
What a beautiful, if tragig, symbol of the peace movement: people unable to think things through, to see ahead, to weigh options, see multiple sides of issues! Build this fool a monument!
To: Revolting cat!
No, "tragig" is not olde English. Write "tragic" 1000 times as punishment, dummy!
To: savedbygrace
What do you have on, your mind?
To: AppyPappy
Right arm.
To: TX Bluebonnet
"Wonder who owned the bus?"
Probably either Usama Bin Laden, Terry McCauliffe or the French Government-who or what else sees unilateral surrender to terrorism as our only choice?
To: KarlInOhio; Musket
Forget the holding the driver liable...just wait. Someone is gonna sue the planners who designed and made the bridge!
To: Sweet_Sunflower29
That had to hurt!

The pair were rushed to San Francisco General Hospital, where they were both listed in critical condition with massive head injuries.
IMHO, these two will be Darwin Award winners very shortly........

I smell a Darwin Award.Without a doubt, this is the latest prospect/suspect for this year's Darwin Award. However, this is not bizarre enough to actually win. This is normal behavior for these SF types. This guy may not even finish in the top 10, but he is definitely a candidate.

feeling high and aloof
he hit a facade, and isn't it odd,
he now is the Headless Protestman.
