November 1, 2002 -- Investigators are becoming increasingly convinced that Beltway sniper suspect John Allen Muhammad went on his rampage because he planned to murder his ex-wife in what would appear to be a random slaying by a psycho spree killer, cops said.

I had a theory, early on, that this might be the case.

I agree. They have latched on to a scenario that allows them to ignore the Islamic reasons for these attacks.

This may be the case. But why did they shoot the other victim, or possible other victims, in other states? And why did he have a gps, computer, a travel agent calling a homeless shelter, possible travel out of the country, etc? That is alot of money going around for a couple of unemployed guys.

I know crazy people sometimes band together but I find it difficult to believe that one man can convince someone else to kill that many people, when the true goal is the death of just one person without sharing a similiar belief system. Or a faith. An extremly strong bond of some kind.

It is my understanding that Islam fosters just this type of kinship.

A better clue to his motive is that Muhammad was a devout radical Muslim extremist.
Muhammad helped provide security for Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan's "Million Man March" in Washington, D.C.

• In 1985 John Williams (John Muhammad):
  • files for divorce,
  • joins the Army,
  • begins living with another woman Mildred Green.
  • and also converts to Islam.

• March 04, 1988 - His divorce to his first wife Carol is finalized.
• March 10, 1988 - Muhammad is remarried to Mildred Denise Green
  at Fort Lewis, Washington. The new Mrs. Muhammad, either is, or later becomes
  a strict practicing Muslim. She is remembered by neighbors in Tacoma in traditional
  Muslim robes and a veil.

• In 1991, Williams was sent to operation Desert Storm. He probably disagreed with the
  US attacking an Islamic country, and its presence in Islamic holy land.

• About Feb 21, 1991 - A few nights before the invasion of Iraq,
  a Sergeant's tent was firebombed with a U.S. thermite grenade.
  Williams, who worked with explosives and had been very
  insubordinate was immediately suspected.
  The Army's Criminal Investigation Division was notified, and
  Williams was taken away in handcuffs. The Seargeant attacked was not
  surprised this year, to see Muhammad accused of the sniper murders.

• 1993 - This appears to be the year John started using the name Muhammad
  extensively. Muhammad's 3rd child born in May 1993, unlike
  his older kids, was given a very Islamic first, middle,
  and last name(Muhammad). It is interesting that this daughter's first name
  ('Taalibah') is so close to ('Taliban' which is also sometimes spelled
  'Taaliban'). Earlier children born in Jan. 1990 and Feb. 1992 were given
  very American names along with the last name: Williams.

• February 1994 - Muhammad left the Army under circumstances unclear.

• April 19, 1995 - FBI Murrah Building in Oklahoma City was bombed.

  Australian law enforcement sources have confirmed the bomb that destroyed the Sari Club consisted of between 50kg and 150kg of ammonium nitrate, the material McVeigh used to kill 168 people in 1995. The sources said the Bali bomb was "a similar size" to the Oklahoma device.

• June 2002 - Muhammad was heard to say he hated police and planned to shoot a police officer, then bomb the funeral of the dead officer to kill more police. Muhammad also wanted to shoot and blow up a gas tanker.
  FORT WORTH, Texas, 12:41 p.m. CDT June 26, 2002 - A tanker truck reportedly carrying 9,000 gallons of gasoline exploded and burned just south of DFW Airport this morning right near a daycare.....
  Again, I'm not SAYING Muhammad dunnit, but lets look into EXACTLY where he was that day.

  Anyone know of an officer shot with a .223 around June or later?

• THREE or more terrorists cooked up the plan to buy a used POLICE CAR and turn it into a killing machine.
• September 11 - Three of them buy the car and register it in New Jersey. The date, and the fact that it was a police car are both important to them.
  Muhammad and Osbourne co-registered the car while another calls in a bomb threat at the DMV.
• September 14 - The shooters try out their sniper car for the first time outside a Silver Spring, Maryland liquor store on a SATURDAY night. The victim survives, and the bullet is too fragmented to match with later shootings. No more sniper shootings occur there for two and a half weeks because the terrorists are out of town.
• September 14- Thinking they've killed someone at the liquor store, terrorists leave immediately for planned training at "Ground Zero" camp in Marion, Alabama [one hour from Montgomery]. The terrorist training manuals teach shooters to lay down and fire backwards out of a vehicle (like a flatbed truck). with another person driving away slowly. This later turns out to be exactly the technique used around D.C.
• September 21 - While in Alabama, Muhammad and Malvo rob and kill at a Montgomery liquor store. Again, this is a Saturday night. A third terrorist assists their escape using the blue Chevrolet Caprice.
• September 23 - Baton Rouge - on a Monday evening, the two robbed and killed Hong Im Ballenger, 45, as she was leaving her beauty shop. The ballistics match the DC killings. Witnesses see the killer run away and jump into the blue Caprice. The man was described as a 130- to 140-pound black man who stands about 5 feet 2 inches tall.
  But Malvo is 5'6", and Muhammad is 6'1". Could it be Osbourne? I think he is shorter. Does anyone know?
• September 26 - I heard there was another Baton Rouge killing positively ID'ed to Muhammad/Malvo, but I dont know the details yet. In fact I think I read there were a string of unsolved murders there in Muhammad's hometown.
• October 1 - Terrorists drive all night to return to Silver Spring, Maryland, all pumped up to kill. They get rested at a safe-house, possibly at the Mohammed residence (apartment #5) at 3974 Bel Pre Road, [this is the same address as the last shooting]. Nation of Islam converts often change their last names to Mohammad, and the shooters know them to be sympathetic or co-conspirators themselves.
• October 2 - Terrorists spend the day planning their hits, and by 5pm start their shooting spree one block from the apartment, at the Michaels store. [Police should check if the store clerk almost killed had ever met John Mohammad, Lee Malvo, or anyone living at the Bel Pre apartments]
• Another shooting will later occur TWO blocks from the apartment, at a gas station.
• Police are convinced the shooters must live nearby, since so many shooting occur in close proximity and shooters know the area very well.
• The last fatal shooting will occur directly outside the apartment on Bel Pre road. Mohammad, who frequently rides busses in that area, probably knew, and has been angered in the past by the driver or one of his co-workers.

Osbourne, the killing car's co-owner is arrested in Flint Michigan. Freepers here all shout CHECK OUT DETROIT! It turns out there IS a Johnnie Muhammad who lives or lived in Detroit. A database firm says that person is actually John A Muhammad, Age 41, Detroit Michigan. Police: Are you listening? I hope you've already been there to check it out. (I know our Alabama men-in-blue heroes certainly would have done this)

Agree about the b.s. I didn't and still don't see a "profiler" asking for a database search for all the FREEDOM loving Americans (/sarcasm) who have taken an Islamic name, and yet this ANTI-FREEDOM CRIMINAL FITS THAT PROFILE. Why not a profile of Democratic Crime Syndicate operative, Cynthia McKinney's financial backers? Her hate speeches may be the "Declaration of Independence" to a Muslim extremist. She may be out of office but the money people who supported her are still free to roam the landscape. This criminal enterprise, is much larger than we are led to believe. I agree with you. These killers are not the typical serial murderers, killers with one set pattern. They've killed close up; they've killed from a distance. They've killed in a serial pattern; they've killed in a spree pattern. They've killed for robbery; they've killed just for the helluva it. They've killed for a probable personal motive; they've killed strangers. It was their randomness and unpredictability that made them so dangerous.

Killing Mohammed's ex-wife is one possible motive out of any number of motives these killers have employed.

I agree with you. This man was overflowing with resentments and psychopathic behavior. He had many grudges, and could have been "saving" the execution of his wife for some particular occasion.

When studying the map of the DC/Md/Va shootings I noticed the avoidance of that southeast sector of the DC suburbs, and tried to figure out the significance of it.

The five deaths in a cluster most likely relate to the '5%er' group of the Nation of Islam.

Then he went east to the school, and southwest to the shopping malls, but never southeast. At the time, I figured that the area offered too few escape routes, but the stalking aspect of that area being of the most importance to him makes much more sense.

Horse crap... They would have traced her ties back to him and he would have no alibi. It would defeat the purpose of killing everyone else because the victims get extensive background checks.

Are we to assume that everyone acts rationally, logically as if they had a "business plan". Evil people are, by self-definition inconsistent liars and deceivers. They can have two unrelated motivations that are both primary motivations for an act.

Those of us who value logic are illogical if we think everyone is like us.
