As far as I am aware, they cannot have a poll worker removed for asking for the proper id and if the voter does not have it and it cannot be verified by the election board when they are contacted for not allowing the person to vote.

If a person walks into the polling place and says that they are John Doe and they do not present one of three legal forms of ID - Drivers License, State ID issued by the Motor Vehicle Department or their voter registration card. A very simple procedure then fall into effect. You merely say, I'm sorry Mr/Mrs/Ms John/Jane Doe, but you cannot vote. If you have any questions please see the person in charge of the precinct or go to the election board and speak with them - period.

I will have in of me a print out of every eligible voter in the precinct. If they have filed an absentee ballot it will be marked on the printout. If they don't have id that matches what I have, I turn it over to the person in charge. simply.

I am simply following the letter of the law. No one can contest that, ever.

That is how it was done in Colorado too. It was a very effective way. We were not required to present ID, but we didn't have a problem with voter fraud either. Arkansas is a chaotic mess!

Silly FReepers! Laws are for Republicans!

They could lie. That's not beyond a liberal's conscience.
