[history]
This year the networks say they have learned from the mistakes they made in 2000, when they prematurely called Florida first for Al Gore and then for George W. Bush. The Voter News Service, which underestimated the number of absentee ballots in Florida that year, claims it has completely revamped its methodology for this election. But the changes will mean slower calls on winners by the networks and less extensive data available for many races. That and the large number of too-close-to-call races for governor or senator could mean a longer night than usual for viewers who want to know the winners.

The media got it right when they called Florida for Bush. They caused all of the problems by calling it for Gore when he wasn't even ahead, and then by taking it away from Bush under pressure from the DNC. Gore was not ahead of Bush when they gave him the state. It was all by design, and I don't believe they will do any different tomorrow. This was not a mistake, it was a set up.

Democrat Scott McCallum, meanwhile, is likely to capture the Wisconsin governorship for the first time in 16 years.
Scott McCallum is the Republican. He means Jim Doyle - the state's worst nightmare.

Ah am going to an election party. I have worked my hiney off for years in an election, but have never bothered to attend the celebration. I am told that there will be a bar, food, a band and a big screen tv.
But, if they do not provide updated information on all races, I will be heading back here to freeperland. LOL
To: Howlin
What a helpful article. Thanks for the ping :) It is going to be a very long night.

Thanks for a good reference point, Pokey. Problem is, I don't expect answers to many of these races for at least 2 weeks.
I think the Rats will contest anything that moves and throw several critical races into the courts. BUT I'll be back tomorrow night for all the gossip!

They caused all of the problems by calling it for Gore when he wasn't even ahead, and then by taking it away from Bush under pressure from the DNC. Gore was not ahead of Bush when they gave him the state.I was watching.. Florida went to Bush (reality), then about one hour later the big media "proclaimed a mistake" and said Florida was really going to Goring... I wonder who got a phone call instructing the networks to declare Florida to Gore? Right there was the cause of what...34 days of bulls&i+? Who made that phone call, could it be someone that owned that media network???
liberal media control?? nawwwww...
Plain old communist agenda Democrats, nothing more. Follow the money and ownership, there is the answer, it isn't hard to figure out.

Was at the rally in the North End tonight- did the Hanover street parade in the rain! Ended up at Fiore's reastaraunt. I ate dinner there with my parents and Romney and Rudy stayed there as well and looked like they had no intention of leaving and were whooping it up. They acted like they knew they had won.
To: Burkeman1
Sounds like you had a pretty cool evening! Romney and Rudy Giuliani were there at the restaurant 'whooping it up' tonight? Interesting... Too early to celebrate, IMHO, but I hope they know something that we don't know yet. Turnout will be key tomorrow... Romney MUST win!

Believe me! They looked confident as hell. Romney was in full spirits (his wife is hot by the way). I think they have some "internal polls" that show a 4 or even 5 point win! If they were not confident they would have rushed back their HQ to scroll over numbers and districts!

Rudy looks GREAT lately. Back in October 2000, I was volunteering in NYC for Rick Lazio's campaign. I literally BUMPED right into Rudy (accidentally) as he was being led to the start of the Columbus Day parade (that's one way to get to meet him, I guess!) He was very gracious and smiled when he saw I was covered with Lazio and Bush pins, LOL. He did NOT look very healthy back then, though. At that time he was undergoing treatment for prostate cancer. He looked pretty pale and weak. He looks a million times better now. I'm SO thankful he's on OUR side!

I can't sleep! I may be the first to vote at my poll station (corrupt democrat machine as they are).Yea... my state too. The old ladies were suprised to see I was a Republican in the primary.
For a second, I wondered if they threw out my ballot... I wouldn't put it past them.
The same old biddies will be there in the morning. Licking their lips and not being able to find your name.
I had to point it out to them reading upside-down on the ledger.

In my polling place we have 16 out of 16 employees demonrat. Republican??? They suck their dentures at your arrival. I just say yes the ruling party in the country and vote
The sad thing is these old cows are housed in an elderly barn run by the menino machine and HAVE to work for $75 (for 12 hours)since they bought into the social security scam big time way back when no one owned a calculator.
Now they're bleeped.

Few surprises are in store in these states' governor and Senate races. Iowa's contests once looked competitive, but expect Govs. Dirk Kempthrone (R., Idaho), Tom Vilask (D., Iowa) and Kenny Guinn (R., Nev.) and Sens. Larry Craig (R., Idaho), Tom Harkin (D., Iowa) and Max Baucus (D., Mont.) to win easily. In Idaho, Craig will win easily because the democrat is a "carpetbagger" and too democratic for this state.
Given Kempthorne's incompetence and arrogance has made "Fort Dirk", "Castle Kempthorne", "Dork Kempthorne", "Dirk the Jerk", and "Dirk-tatorship" common phrases in Idaho and a large chunk of the population is angry about that Term Limits initiative repeal by the Legislature, Kempthorne might have problems.
Personally I refuse to vote for either one of them. Craig for being one of the weenie impeachment Senators and Kempthorne because he is incompetent and arrogant.

I hate being a pessimist. It has started my day off on the wrong foot. The worst part is that if my fears come to fruition, I'll feel even worse. I'm trying to be optimistic but given the democRATs penchant for election fraud and my lack of faith in the electorate it's hard. Especially considering my "choices" for Governor and Congresswoman. Even if they win, I don't necessarily. But I'll be there during my lunch hour, holding my nose and pulling the lever.
Remember to vote early and vote often!
