Just returned from voting - straight Republican ticket. My 82 year old mother accompanied me and accidently made her mark for straight democratic - I almost had a heart attack. She realized her mistake (I was giving her "the look" she used to give me), she requested a new ballot, and her all republican vote was cast.

Oh, just wanted to report that here in my very Republican parish voter turnout is extremely high, despite the very bad weather.

I asked about turnout when I was there at about 10 a.m. and the poll workers told me that it was much higher than the 2000 election. My parents vote at another polling place and they were told that turnout so far has been MORE THAN TRIPLE that of the 2000 election. Most of these people are voting Republican!!! Mary Landrieu had better start cleaning out her desk.

I hope everyone's ancedotal evidence about higher then usual voter is true. I feel like the Republican base is VERY mobilized. I as stated earlier they poll workers at my polling place said that they were SUPRISED by the turnout. I was the 27th voter and the polls had onl been open 5 minutes.

Just got back my Ocean County precinct. Voted for Forrester. Ocean County will go for him. Praying that the dems are disappointed in the rest of the state.

They went with me, of course! I sat them up and read the cockfighting State Question to them. They got little cookies and an "I Voted" sticker. The ladies are the same ones that always work this poll and are very sweet and know us.

The last two elections my husband has been first.

Done.

My wife voted for the first time today. I - as usual - voted straight Repub.

But how did I miss this insult: I was gerrymandered into a Democratic House Of Reps district and didn't even know it. Yucch.

I was waiting in line outside the polling place before 7 AM so I could get it out of the way. There were probably about seven people in line ahead of me.

Four races, all with choices. Mine were Mike Fisher (fingers crossed), Tim Murphy (soon to be our newest Congressman), Tom Stepnick (running against a popular incumbent DemonRat), and Ed O'Donnell (sacrificial lamb against an entrenched Demon).

There was also a question that started off with something like, "Should the commonwealth of Pennsylvania incur a debt of $100,000,000 to..." That's usually all it takes for me to vote NO!

Interesting that your poll worker asked you for your address.

The rolls are listed according to address so you have to start by giving them your address. Problem with that is that someone can use anyone's address if they are the same gender and know the right name to use.

I voted straight republican in Houston. Didn't vote straight party but went through race by race so I could see all the names.

Good News! There were NO races in which the Pubs were not represented but plenty in which the dims did not field a candidate.

Me and the Better Half cast our ballots here in Missouri this morning for a republican House and Senate. Doesn't take long to fill out a straight ticket ballot.
