I thought that the GOP gains in late votes. Working people don't get in during the day as much. Then again, dead voters have special permission to vote after midnight.

If they hadn't uncovered the Indian reservations scam a week ago, I feel the Democrats would have gotten Johnson back in without anyone being the wiser. Not tonight.

Davison county now has all of its precincts reporting. It basically ended up 50-50. With 13 precincts left, 6 are in Shannon county (91-9 in favor of Johnson so far), 3 are in Hamlin county (53-47 in favor of Thune so far), and 2 are in Clark county (55-44 in favor of Johnson so far).

Remember how Willie Brown kept the speakership in California with a Repulican majority in the Assembly? What do you bet Dashole tries to pull a Willie number with Chafee if the Slave Party takes South Dakota?

Shannon County is enough to put Johnson over the top. IMHO he goes ahead by 500 or so votes.

We'll get a recount for sure, and who knows, maybe a court challenge by the GOP.

We'll win MN and probably LA next month. It won't matter what happens in SD now. We've got a Senate majority.

We don't know. Could be large. Could be small. Could be pro-GOP. Could be pro-Dem. We're just going to have to wait and see.

I don't know how many votes are left to be counted, just the number of precincts. I'm getting this info from the Secratary of State WEB site: http://www.state.sd.us/sos/results/allraces.shtml It updates every 5 minutes.

Our guy is ahead. Why don't you wait for the Dem to actually have more votes before you throw in the towel?

Watching election results in real time is a lot more fun if you think positively.
