HUNTINGTON BEACH Reeling from a lawsuit and the determined opposition of federal officials, the City Council plans to repeal a controversial law banning aerial advertising.

Council members decided behind closed doors Wednesday to repeal the law after learning that recent changes in federal aviation rules strip the city of jurisdiction over airways, said Councilwoman Pam Houchen. The council will formally vote to repeal the law Nov. 18, Houchen said.

This whole thing started because the local Pro Choice group was renting banners with graphic pictures of late term abortion babies flying past the beachgoers.

HaHa. I wrote a letter, that was published, in the HB Independent in favor of the banner flying. Councilman Connie Boardman who raised the issue is a socialist. She also is in favor of using our tax dollars to pay city contractors at a living-wage rate.

Born and raised in LB myself, John, and I know HB pretty well also. Haven't been home in quite a while, but planning a visit shortly. What you say doesn't surprise me. Do they have rent control yet?

Pro Choice? Aerial pro life pictures of aborted babies offend the insensibilities of pro-choice groups, who would abuse the right to FRee speech in censoring the truth about abortion.

Thanks for posting this. I'm glad to see it was resolved in a way that must make pro-aborts want to scream.
