Planning this to be a quiet day, remembering all who have gone before to ensure we could be here, living in freedom - and those currently serving..
A special word for GatorGirl and Severa, understanding the tremendous sacrifices of every day, 'holding down the fort.'
I am not only a veteran, but also was a military wife.
May you always be assured you are appreciated, by the nation - and those of us here.
You are in and will remain in our prayers; you, your husbands, and families.
May God watch over you - and bless you.

Thank you for serving your country. I am so happy that W is your Commander in Chief...
President Bush (news - web sites) pays a solemn visit to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, on Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11, 2002. He will later lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.

In memory of my father, a WW11 Veteran, I salute all those who fought and gave their lives so that we can enjoy our freedom.
Thank you from my heart to all Veterans, both living, and dead, past and present. We owe you all a debt we can never repay.
Happy Veterans day to all Freeper men and women of the US Armed forces!

George W. Bush. I was glad I voted for him in November 2000. I'm happy to say, he has already made me proud of that vote! Many times he has. MORE than SIX years to go, too ! :O)

Good Morning, Billie. Thank you for posting this lovely thread in tribute to our Veterans.
Ours is not a military family. None the less we are most appreciative of the sacrifices made by others for us.
Thanks to all who protected this great nation.
Thanks to all who are currently protecting this great nation.

My phone line is down and I'm at a neighbor's house. I wasn't able to check the midi link before I posted so I'm not sure if it's working. Did it work for you?

Good morning, everyone.
Thank you, Billie, for this special thread today. I have been looking forward to this day. Honoring our veterans and our military is what we do best here and I am happy that I was able to contribute.
There is no place I would rather be right now than on this website and on this thread with you fine people. I am so proud to be associated with all of you!
Thank you, Veterans everywhere, for answering
the call to serve and defend America.

I knew he (as all presidents do for the past many decades) was going to Arlington, but this trip seemed to be completely off the agenda. It is a wonderful message that President Bush has sent to our Vietnam vets. It's a wonderful juxtaposition to the past president who couldn't go near that subject lest he be reminded of his dodging.....
