Racial profiling is a MUST! It's cheap and it works! Just like abstinence as a birth control!

If the FBI does this right, and creates enough suspicion among these people, it can be a force multiplier. Michael Ledeen tells the story in his new book ("The War Against the Terror Masters") of Dewey Clarridge, a CIA case officer who went after Abu Nidal after he and his cohorts blew up the Marine barracks in Lebanon in 1983. (Nidal is the same guy who "committed suicide" in Iraq this past August, with four bullets to the head).

Clarridge waged psychological warfare against Nidal, until every one of his follower's loyalty was suspect in the eyes of their leader. Finally, in 1987, Nidal executed 300 of his own hard-core operatives. As Clarridge put it, "Abu Nidal's paranoia, fed by our crusade against him, caused him to destroy his organization."

It took Clarridge more than a few years to bring it to that point, but it was definitely an effective tactic. (And one of the few CIA successes against terrorism.)
