Great bio! I love getting to know fellow FReepers and finding out we have a few things in common.
I was a worker bee in the weekly newspaper biz for a few years doing a little bit of everything, including writing a conservative column every week. I really learned a lot there, moreso than when I worked at a daily paper as just a reporter/photographer.
God bless you and Maggie and your wonderful family.

Thank you Aquamarine. I think that calls for a candlelight dinner. I'll play it again during dessert.

we're so glad you found us! So am I. I enjoy being addicted to the FreeRepublic.

Thank you, ladtx, for this daily report.
We look for it each day, pausing to honor them and reflect upon the peril in which our current military personnel operate.
May God be merciful to all, guiding them, giving them strength for engaging in just causes - and bring them all home safely.
Amen.

...and to add to your lovely sentiment, there is no greater gift a man can give to his children than to love their mother.... This is such a lovely thread today!

Keep on writing. One small conservative voice drowns out much of the left-wing liberal cacophony.
I went to a Veterans Day dinner last night and was seated next to a newly elected Democratic State Senator. She is a really nice person. She even accepted my premise that the Democratic party is in its death throes.
Others at the table included a Republican State Senator and a Republican county councilman.
They like our papers.

My cousin Isaac Ryan died at the Alamo, one of the first to die. His name is on a plaque on interior wall of Alamo. I have copy of his birth certif., and some other things like that.
My cousin George Washington First in the heart of his countrymen, too many great things to list.
My father-in-law served during WWII.
My uncle Richard Thoos, who is still MIA WWII in a B17, presumed dead long ago. When the peaceniks started protesting the other day, it broke my heart, I went to Richard's framed photo and apologized to him for the protests! The DEMONstrators make me SO angry! They don't appreciate anything that our military has done.
I also lost two friends in VN War. Ricky James and Larry Henshaw. Just boys, from Sapulpa Oklahoma. Their names are on THE WALL, I did a rubbing of their names with pencil on paper. You can do that at THE WALL. I did that during the Fantastic FreeRepublic Howl for Justice on weekend of Oct. 31, 1998.

Good morning buffy. I really really really like that quote on your profile page. Evil does indeed come in the guise of the beautiful, the desirable. That is why we get fooled so often. We forget that fire is beautiful but deadly.
