PRESIDENTIAL adviser Karl Rove and other members of George W. Bush's administration will have to go into heavy spin control when Bob Woodward's muckraking "Bush at War" hits the stores next week.

The Washington Post reporter was given unheard-of access to top White House aides for the upcoming Simon & Schuster tome, but loose-lipped insiders may soon regret their candor. Excerpts obtained by the Drudge Report contain some of Woodward's revelations.

I can give you the reason that you should not believe any of the "quotes" put forth by Woodward as being from some of the principals of the Bush White House.

None of them are dead.

That was a great moment. Only someone like Bob Woodward would find it sinister. Am I really supposed to believe Rove was reminded of a NAZI rally? Give me a friggin' break. REality check time. The crowd cheered for Bush. That was good, especially after all the speculation by the media that Bush just might get himself booed. But it was the Yankees who really brought the house down, which is also good.

And MLB picked it as one of baseball's 30 greatest moments. I find it hard to believe that Rove said anything about comparing it to a Nazi rally. Anyhow, Woodward has a reputation for making things up -- Dan Aykroyd is still angry about his John Belushi book.

What? Are you telling us that the title to Hitlery's new book will be "Mein Kampf"?

Heil, no. The title to Hitlery's new book is, "Mein Mein Mein." The sequel will be, "Mein Sheeple are Mein Kampf."

I prefer Clemenza's less-subtle approach:

"Leave the gun. Take the cannolis."

No problem.

You got it right. There is no way Rove said that.

Rove didn't say that. He 'thought' it. Look at the Woodward sentence again. The guy has ESP because he is a mind reader.

So is the quote real or not?

Um...what quote? There is no quote.

I can see many FReepers eating crow and backtracking if it turns out to be true.

I can see many people being able to leap twenty feet into the air, if the world were to stop spinning on its axis. But I don't anticipate that happening.

Know what I mean, jellybean?

"Now, since Dana Milbank's sole purpose on the Washington Post is to manufacture hit pieces on the President, and considering that the Clintons are envious of the President's success, and considering that it was known that Woodward was writing a book, and considering that the publisher is Clinton's publisher, I don't think it is hard to see what happened"

. . .thanks for the 'positive' analysis. . .

Of course, the Demrats could make a lead balloon fly, and often do. Just hope it bursts over their head.

This really bothered me --- if it is true.....I just can't understand why Rove would say such a thing.....it sounds like an accusation that would come from a Manhattan liberal....

Watching from owner George Steinbrenner's box, Karl Rove thought, it's like being at a Nazi rally."

I wonder if Woodwierd can tell me what I'm thinking? (HINT: 8 letters begins with "a")
