New U.S. envoy touts "earned legalization" for Mexican migrants
EFE - 11/16/2002
The man confirmed this week by the U.S. Senate as Washington's new ambassador to Mexico said Friday that he was in favor of "earned legalization" for undocumented Mexican immigrants, a newspaper here reported.
Tony Garza, scheduled to arrive in Mexico within the next few days, told the daily El Financiero that migration, security, drug trafficking and conflicts over water on the border will be the chief issues he will tackle as U.S. ambassador.
The 43-year-old Texas Republican denied relations between Mexico and the United States have deteriorated because of disagreements over how to deal with Iraq.
Mexico, currently a rotating member of the UN Security Council, supported the position of France and Russia over that of the United States in the negotiations that ended with the Council's unanimous approval of a resolution aimed at disarming Iraq.
Noting that Mexico is a "very independent" country, Garza described as "exaggerated" reports that Mexico's position on the resolution had caused a rift with the United States.
The new ambassador expressed his willingness to promote a renewal of negotiations on the issue of migration, which is one of Mexico's top priorities in the bilateral relationship but was placed on the back burner following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
"We should recognize the contribution of undocumented Mexicans and open the door for them to earned legalization. Talks should center on the criteria that will allow people to obtain this status," Garza said, while offering no details about his proposal for "earned legalization."
Garza denied any intent on Washington's part to pressure the Mexican legislature into opening the country's oil industry - nationalized in 1938 - to private firms, though adding that once such a step is taken, "I will of course try to encourage U.S. investments in the sector."
The ambassador said he was ready to "roll up his sleeves" and work to strengthen bilateral ties, insisting that "there is no more important relationship than the one we have with Mexico."
--END--
This Garza is a buddy of George, and George's administration just doesn't get it. Americans don't want to be overrun by Mexico.
A dead fish rots from the head. Enough. Out the door in 2004.

I am impressed. He's been on the job only a short time and already Presidente Fox and his drug lord friends, employees, and associates have slipped Garza enoght illegal cash, drugs and women that he has turned against the best interests of his own country. Even a clintonian crooked ambassador would have held out for a month or two, although his hold out would have been to get a better price.

This pandering of illegal aliens is getting more pathetic by the day.

Tacis, I think you are missing the point! He was not turned by Foxy and his friends. He is following the policy of his president. Garza, Ziglar the INS are all carrying out the orders of our president who has a love affair with Mexico and appears to be more concerned with Mexico, the benefits of cheap, illegal labor and the "perceived" Latino vote. The desires of the overwhelming majority of the American public are being completely ignored. It appears to be of no interest to the administration that this imposes a tremendous tax burden on the American taxpayer. The plan to have an inexaustable supply of cheap labor even if it should turn the America we know into a 3rd world nation goes forward. And the American public be damned!

Translation:
If Mexico agrees to open it's oil industry up to Bush's buddies that own the private 'American Oil Companies', the Bush administration will shove the 13 million illegal Mexicans already in the USA and anymore that Mexico wants to send right down the U.S. Taxpayer's throats.
Bush's real, ONE WORD reason for his open borders policy in spite of overwhelming American opinion to the contrary.

LOL!! You'd think Jorge and company would wait longer than 10 days after the election to start floating their Pander-Amnesty balloons.

"earned legalization" = AMNESTY Looks like ol Jorge has the spin machine in full gear for the final passage of the 245(i) Amnesty bill, which has been bottled up in the Senate since April. There will be a myriad of other names associated with this Amnesty like "regularization", "normalization", "family reunification", "employer, employee matching" among new euphemisms like the above.
The more I observe this administration, the fewer differences I see from the last one.

The picture is becoming a bit clearer. Now Mr. Bush wouldn't trade America's Sovereignty for a lucrative deal for his Oil Buddies would he? Nah.

Yep, no doubt about it. The immigration polices, particularly with respect to Mexico, is being set at the top. And our dysfunctional INS that is unable to perform its mission on any level is by design.

"Garza will be a powerful ambassador and he will be more attentive to immigration issues, because he already knows what kind of problems we have on the border and he can immediately identify the best means to handle and help to resolve them."
"He is a good ally for Mexico and it was a good selection, given his Mexican roots, and as a Hispanic, he surely will be an important ally on immigration issues."
Mexican Sen. Oscar Luebbert
How did this bum Garza ever get confirmed? Ol' George sure has a knack for bogus appointments.

Don't know about YOUR ancestors, but mine didn't break in to earn legalization. They came in through Ellis Island, you know, the legal way. And those in Washington ought to quit trying to insult our intelligence with their phony euphemisms.

Yes, I think there could be a major problem brewing here.

"We should recognize the contribution of undocumented Mexicans and open the door for them to earned legalization." We do recognize their "contribution", bankrupt hospital, over crowded schools, through the roof property taxes, La Raza, Azatlan, and lots and lots of Marxist votes. Deport them or go with them South.

Will this include an interest in being an American as opposed to trying to reconquer America, we wonder?
To: AmericanVictory
If you follow the Mexican, illegal, invasionist line of thinking, they already consider themselves more
North American than we are. They claim their
people were here first.
No, they will not assimilate into the historical, English speaking, culture of the United States.
-They will retain their Mexican citizenship.
-They will continue to vote in Mexican, national elections.
-They will, at Fox's urging, vote the political will of a foreign government in all national and local elections in the United States.
-Fox demands that they remain Mexican first and that's just what they'll do.
We'll have a defacto Mexican government installed in the United States over the next decade and Bush and his fellow RINOs support it.

You've said it well. How many politicians have the courage to articulate this truth and insist on assimilation as a goal for all migrants to this country? How many are willing to say that insistence on assimilation is not racism but it's constitutional opposite?

Your right, there is no differance on immigration between Clinton and Bush. I am so disappointed. Maybe it is all about oil. Hopefully, someone will challage George in the primary in 2004.

In all seriousness...you should really stop hanging out with the "Hillary For President in 2004" crowd. He's free anytime he wants to leave. But those of us who expect laws against illegal immigration to be enforced, which is about 80% of the population aren't going away. And we won't be bullied or race carded into submission.
But if he or anyone else would like to offer us intelligent debate as to why our borders shouldn't be closed and laws enforced by Bush or any other President than I'm sure they can be entertained.
To: Tancredo Fan
This character does not represent the U.S....He represents the Bush administration (which we may have to start referring to as the Bush Cartel)...
I didn't want to admit it, or even think about it but it seems within the realm of possibility that this inevitable up and coming war in Iraq may be only a distraction to what's happening within our borders and within our government...
Take a look at the brand new "homeland security" bill...Does this bill provide for the military and police to work with American citizens to fight against invaders of our borders, or does it restrict the freedoms of law abiding AMericans and put handcuffs on those of us who are willing to defend our borders within??? Who is being protected here???
One thing that we cannot deny...George Bush loves illegal Mexicans...George loves the "peaceful" Islam...
But then this would put George at odds with any love for American Sovereignty, wouldn't it???
