But newly disclosed medical files covering the last eight years of Kennedy's life, including X-rays and prescription records, show that he took painkillers, antianxiety agents, stimulants and sleeping pills, as well as hormones to keep him alive, with extra doses in times of stress.

Either that, or his medical records got mixed up with Marilyn Monroe's.

Did he take any medications for sexually transmitted diseases?

And would the author tell us if Kennedy did suffer from these ailments?

what I think is that our past president despite all the rumors was probably impotent....his famous love life although it looked good on paper was much ado about nothing.....

with all those medicines and disease, I doubt he could do too much romanticizing except maybe in his brain....

""Some people are sick and others are well."

And in the case of Teddy, some people are sleeping off a hangover while others are drowning.

I don't know what to say, except that man's life was horrible.

Given this list of medications, especially the opiates and the barbiturates, JFK would have ineligible for most good jobs in American industry today- and definitely for any overseen by the Department of Transportation (with mandatory drug testing).

But of course, since he was a Democrat, all these illnessess and drugs did not impair his judgement!

Give me a break.

"I was with J.F.K. for 11 years," Mr. Sorensen said in an interview, "and for so many of those I was trying to refute, rebut rumors that he was suffering from this disability or that, and that's why as a general rule, if those medical files were placed in the library under very restricted conditions by the family, as the family's nominee, I just couldn't agree that they would be opened to any Tom, Dick or Harry because I knew a bunch of them would seek to exploit them."

In other words, "I lied in public and in private for all of those years, and I wasn't about to let the truth come out"...

No, it's very unlikely. When it came to sex, JFK was a veritable rabbit, who thought that his office gave him the right to any woman he saw. His condition could be called satyriasis, the male equivalent of nymphomania.

I heard this first-hand from a woman related to one of JFK's cabinet secretaries, a teenager at the time, who was given a tour of the White House and only escaped an offer she couldn't refuse by falsely telling him she was having her period.

Not a nice guy.

On that date, probably still far into the future, when the medical records of the "Former Occupant of the Oval Office, 1993-2001" are released, the reasons for his continued impaired judgment will become clear. A psychological evaluation, and a complete list of the prescription and non-prescription drugs in his system, would do much to clarify to historians how the dumbfounding and truly scary years of the decade of the 1990's and the ensuing aftermath came to be.

The records say nothing about treatment by Dr. Max Jacobson, a Manhattan physician who later lost his medical license for prescribing amphetamines. The Times detailed his involvement years ago, but the files said "nothing, nil," about Dr. Jacobson, Mr. Dallek said.

In other words, Dr. Jacobson kept no records of all the other drugs he was giving Kennedy. The fun stuff.

The Democrats seem to have a problem with this.

Exactly the thoughts I had on this. Kennedy was nothing but a living lie and a sack of liberal sh*t in my estimation--maybe more putrid than even Teddy-boy. And nobody seems to care, at least on the far left. G*dd*m Bill Clinton will be proven to be a junkie and a syphilis (or AIDS)-afflicted walking science project.
