Interesting how this is the first time people haven't seen Gore as completely asexual. Ironically, his other daughter Karenna and wife Tipper have tried very hard for years to make him look like a real man but have failed.

The problem is he seems sort of like a white Michael Jackson, an asexual man constantly trying to remake his image -- didn't Maureen Down write something a few years back about these weird eunuch pols? It's easy for people to think these types of men are sexually perverted in other ways too. The photographer didn't help here.

Well, like I said, I think everyone is over-reacting. I don't see anything wrong with any pictures I've seen on this thread. I've never considered Gore as being a manly man or not a manly man, except with that ill-conceived alpha-male charade that personality shaper put him through in the election. I think he is good to his wife and kids and therefore to imply anything else borders on false-accusation. I don't know that these types of threads serve any purpose except to show us as mean-spirited or hypocritical. Politically, I think Gore would be inept as a commander-in-chief and his environmental wackoism and his tax and spend policies would be disastrous for our economy, but I would never accuse him of being a bad father without good evidence.

I'm not here to disrupt, but I didn't see anyone else make the type of comment I'm making so I made it so that any lurkers may know that not all conservatives are so cold-natured as those that are on this thread appear to be with their comments and their implications.

Good points, but I think the commentary is more based around whether it's normal for him to be in the position he's in. The gut reaction that the photograph brings out when it shows his grown-up daughter's head in his lap while he's doing his slobber-kissing thing with his wife is that it's somewhat improper by our cultural norms.

It's interesting to see the reactions though, and I think the "mean" comments are tongue in cheek, not to be taken seriously. Of course his defense of the perverted Bill Clinton's oral sex with young girls doesn't help him. I would say about 10% have your response that it's no big deal and normal family love, 90% seem to think it's creepy or borderline inappropriate. Zero percent actually think he's a incestual child molester. 100% think he needs to review the photos of himself better as a politician in the national eye. Unfortunately he has a daughter/advisor trying hard to make him look like a sexed-up hottie. That's weird enough.

Of course it's natural for the impression to vary from person to person. Clinton simply hugging on Chelsea makes people more leery than seeing Bush innocently plant one on the lips of his beautiful daughters. Even ignoring the politics, humans just get gut feelings as to sexual udertones in a hug or kiss -- or photograph.

Maybe if he and Tipper were doing a bit more than kissing. The picture looks as if she were simply walking by and stopped to give a little kiss.

I'd be angry if I saw those on the left implying this about a Republican, kidding or not.

Yeah we could have a little fun with this if it was just us in a room joking around, I wouldn't be uptight about this at all. But the problem with the internet is that speech inflections and the like don't get transmitted over the net and these types of threads look like everyone seriously thinks there may be innappropriate behaviour or are trying to falsely accuse. That makes anyone who may be lurking and who probably have many pictures in their own family albums very similar to these to believe the things they hear in the media about conservatives retentiveness or cold-nature. I don't have a problem with his daughter trying to make him appeal to younger women, a younger woman would be more apt to understand these things.

Like I said, I didn't mean to disrupt your thread but I know these these types of things don't play well to the more independant type of people and I just wanted to make a point that there are some of us that don't over-react to some of the warmer fuzzier things that are normal in a lot of family relationships.

Not to overdo the point but I think the false implication of incest is over the line because it seems to me a violation of these young women to falsely imply something of this nature. You can say what you want though and have fun with it. To each his own, we all have different standards of political discourse and if just one person would've spoken against it I would've skipped it. I certianly don't want to be the most uptight person here. I simply wanted any lurkers to know that not all of us will go over that line, even with Clinton who's committed every other crime.

You have to understand that photos in his house like this are staged for a reason, just like the deep public kiss. The family is attempting to portray him as a loving sexy dad (heavy emphasis on the sex part). They've been doing that for years now.

He got his wish, now we're free to interpret the appropriateness of the images and the sexual overtones in whatever they're feeding us. Doesn't it seem weird that Karenna is closely involved in things like him having a perfectly arranged package on the cover of Rolling Stone and having Tipper talking about Al sleeping in the nude? Karenna is constantly trying to Alpha-male sexualize him (for the voters of course).

The point is that his daughter's near obsessive involvement in her father's sexuality and virility are very public. That was a major political miscalculation if you don't want people joking about it and noticing the very thing they're used to seeing presented by the Gore family -- even if that particular photo was designed to be innocent.

See my above post. I think it was staged by his other daughter, and he just trusts her judgment on what will attract the women and make the men wish they were him.
