A Fresno County Superior Court judge ordered Wednesday the release of the names and addresses of 154 voters who cast provisional ballots in Fresno County for the 30th Assembly District.

Judge Gary S. Austin ruled the release of provisional voter's names, home telephone numbers and signatures were public record, and lifted a stay issued Monday that stopped the counting process.

Yeah, the Stupid Party also abandoned McClintock, who would have won with even a little bit of support from the party.

Yep. I supported and contribtesd to Tom. The lack of California Republican Party support for him was disgraceful and a grevious error. The CRP seems to be run by high-school-age children.

I think it over. I heard on the news tonight parre is up by 270 votes with the Kern votes in. Garner put up a great fight however. The dems should of had this distance easy but the L.A and San Fran dems got into the primany and had pick her and stop Costa who is a Vally democrat and former state senate that votes with the Reps on many social issue. They had Lawyers and Unions pour in millions in the primany and Gen. The local newspaper printer a letter they found with the one of the dem leader in the house saying that they had a oppurity to put in "one of them". It was also seen as a slap to the very well like Dean Flozer who seat this is. He has move on the to the state senate. This is the guy who run the commite that stop the deal with Oracle and they threw him off the commite because he did not vote for the SUV air pollution bill.

I personally know some of these high school campaign dummies. They think that Reps have to sound like Dems to get elected in California. Every great Republican winner has proven them wrong. But alas, they still shout as loud as they can with their heads in their butts, the same ole same ole. Thanks for all you do for the cause.

The money went to anyone that would sound like a Dem. A real leader could have taken back 10 seats in the Assembly. Dave Cox is such a loser.

If Ah-nold does the job to the CA GOP that Weld did to the MA GOP, it will bear out everything I've been saying about just how bad a Gov he'll be. Weld destroyed the MA GOP completely and purged it of conservatives. All ideological battles in MA are fought out in the Dem party. I've written on this subject ad infinitum.

This just in from Sac Bee 11/23/02 . . . the controversy continues. Parra declares herself the victor in the Assembly race in the 30th district. Gardner's people still counting and suing. THERE'S DEMOCRAP HANKY PANKY UP THE WAZOO!!!! The democRATS spent almost TWO MILLION DOLLARS ON THIS STATE ASSEMBLY RACE while Dean Gardner spent $230,000 mostly out of his own pocket. The Republican Caucus - DAVE COX - virtually told Dean Gardner to go fu-- himself. DAVE COX is to blame for this mess for not knowing and understanding the voters' needs, wishes and issues. I AM FURIOUS! In addition, no one is mentioning the MILITARY BALLOTS that were THROWN OUT because supposedly they arrived too late. I heard there were 1,500 military ballots destroyed. That would have made the difference in this race. As God is my witness, the democRATS are stealing this seat! And the Republican leadership is letting them do it. This isn't America; it's a dictatorship. We might as well live in Cuba.

Military ballots have the post mark rule. Were the postmarks too late? If not, why didn't the Pubbie sue on that one?

And the Republican leadership is letting them do it

How often have we asked this question over and over? We see the GOP wimp out in SD where there was apparent fraud. Trent Lott shakes in his boots evertime a Democrat tells him to "do this, or do that." And the CA GOP has no leadership at all.

Good Lord. This Cox character rivals the trash RINO State House GOP Leader here in TN who all but performs "oral" on our tyrannical 'Rat Speaker. We need to rid ourselves of this garbage and put in REAL leaders who fight for our party, our ideals, and for US !

He actually shrank the government something most Republicans fail at. I don't see how he destroyed the GOP 45% of Mass voters voted to repeal the income tax.

In 1990, when he was elected, there were 16 out of 40 Republican State Senators, and there were 37 out of 160 GOP State House members. They elected a State Treasurer and 2 Executive Councillors and retained 1 U.S. House member (the late Silvio Conte), which increased to 2 newcomers in 1992. Flash forward 12 years later, Weld is gone, Cellucci, his clone, cleared out, Swift, another Weldite, is heading out the door, and what do they leave ? An almost non-existent 6 out of 40 Senators (a 60%+ drop in representation), and 22 State reps. (practically a 50% drop). ZERO statewide officeholders below Swift, ZERO members of Congress. Weld vowed to "fight a battle for the soul of the GOP" against conservatives (yeah, those same people that ARE the Republican party in every other state in America). He told conservatives in MA, like the Irish were told a century ago, you need not apply to the GOP -- you aren't welcome. So what is left of the few remaining officeholders is a sad, sorry sight... Represented by individuals like Jo Anne Sprague, 1 of the 6 Senators left, a hard-leftist who was the "hope" of the party to run for the seat of the late Joe Moakley. Her Dem opponent looked like Jesse Helms by comparison, and he clobbered her. The situation, I've been told, by someone "on the ground" in MA, is even worse at the grassroots where the party has, for all intents and purposes, died. It's the Democrat party in MA that is the big tent, ranging from the hard-core left wing (Kennedy/Kerry/Birmingham, etc.) to ostensibly more conservative (Speaker Finneran). Weld turned the party into a one-man (or one-man + Lt Gov) show and let the party wither on the vine. In my opinion, he was perhaps one of the worst "Republican" Governors in recent memory, and one of the most single-handedly destructive individuals to the party, bar none. His 2nd in command didn't even want to stick around to repair the damage, and left for a cushy job north of the border. Swift has been utterly clueless. As for Romney, we shall see if he is interested in serving as a Republican and welcome conservatives back into the party and start to invigorate the grass roots, or if he'll become another Weldite Party member. If it is to be the latter, let us just give the state GOP its nice burial and always remember it as an example of what happens when one of America's most previously penultimate GOP states is overtaken by RINOs, that destruction galore follows.

P.S. The 45% of state voters that went with IT repeal only goes to show you where our party might truly stand in power if its "leaders" hadn't hacked it to pieces. What a shame.

Yeah but Finneran kills all liberal action in the house. Things for the average person got a lot better after Weld.

Finneran won't last forever, a lot of leftist Dems want him gone and replaced with a Tom Birmingham type, and one of these days, their biannual revolt will be a success. As for Weld and his alleged "success", well, he was the best party-building Governor for the DEMOCRATS than practically any other MA pol since JFK. Too bad his Kennedyesque ego wouldn't allow him to "spread the wealth" beyond Argeo Paul to his own party (let alone conservatives).

They've tried to oust the iron speaker all the attempted coups have been miserable failures. Hes not that old and will probably be there to he dies and will probably have a hand picked successor replace him.

He might not last as long as you think. In any event, this still does nothing to further GOP party-building in the state since Finneran is still a Dem. Whether Gov-elect Romney (who was a victim of Weld's egotism in helping sabotage his '94 run against Kennedy) is up to the behemoth effort of party building we have yet to see (I have my doubts seeing his putting Jane Swift II on his ticket, really dumb, rather than Jim Rappaport, who would've really proven his committment to rebuilding the party).
