LONDON (AP) -- One of the three primary films of the assassination of U.S. President John F. Kennedy is being restored, its owners said Friday, the 39th anniversary of his death.

The "Muchmore film," as it is known, will be remastered with digital technology that will stabilize it and restore scratched and damaged images, Associated Press Television News said in London.

A trial would have been great, but I think the truth can be arrived at without a trial.

I would counter by arguing that the truth can often be difficult to arrive at, even with a trial.

Please do not lose sight of the fact that Oswald along with his lawyer never had a chance to defend himself in court.

How many instances can you think of in which accused and arrested people were murdered while in custody? (And if you can think of any, were they supposed to happen?) I am not necessarily saying here Oswald did not do it, but the adversarial legal trial process can often be good at determining the facts (think Matlock if you must) and without it, the field is left open to speculation and polemics. Needless to say, the Oswald side of the story was never told, and opportunities were lost to investigate alternatives to the "lone nut" theory.

Have you checked out The Killing of a President by Groden? (Yes, Groden made a public professional error later in life, but that does not necessarily detract from facts independently established as in TKOAP).

I can be angry at a killer or killers, and the fact that two good people died that day, but I just consider it totally wrong and a waste of spiritual energy if I would be sidetracked into being made angry at the wrong person. On the contrary, I would strive to read everything I could about the matter, or at least as much as I had time to do, and make sure that both sides are well covered in my reading, before trying to come to any firm conclusions. And even so, the fact that there was never a trial means that there will always be a hole in the record with regards to this incident.

No, but I'm always interested in a good book on the subject. I'll put it on my list for my next trip to the library. Thank you very much for the suggestion.

Thank you very much for the suggestion.

It is very light, easy reading. It is a coffee table format photographic essay on the assassination with almost all the relevant photos, plus photos of interest (eg in the hours immediately before and after, the "forged" LHO in backard with rifle photos, etc). Anyone making an argument one way or another about the assassination would I imagine want to use it as a reference.

if the photo you are talking about is the one of oswald stood on the top step of the TSBD then it is not a fake it was taken as the final shot was fired.it is clamed that the man you see in the photo is bill lovelady another worker in the TSBD.how ever you should read loveladys statment to the warren commision because the cloths he says he was wearing that day do not match the cloths of the man in the front entrance, but it does look alot like oswald to me and matches what oswald was wearing that day.make up your own mind

LOL almost a 3-year-old thread. I forgot all about it!

There are days I believe it's Lovelady on the stairs and other times I don't. I'm not a big reasearcher in this area but since the original date of this thread I've looked at almost everything I could find on the web, newsgroups, and in my library. Sometimes I think it's Lovelady and other times ??? (especially when I get caught up in the reasons that I could have been Oswald).

Not very decisive on my part, eh? ;)
