Well I want to see Suzie win but everyone get real. I don't think that was a threat on her life. I think she was just being spiteful and telling her the equivalent of " you will never have lunch in kthis state again",,but hey, if we wanta play it up as a threat, I guess we can. Somehow it makes me feel like a dem.

Candidate debate has unfriendly end.

Mary's really losing it, deport. Every day she sounds more and more desperate, as Suzie gets more endorsements every day. In the last few days, the NRA and the National Right to Life Action Committee have enthusiastically endorsed Suzie. But everyone told Mary she couldn't lose this race, and so she built her multi-million dollar mansion in Washington and said good-bye to Louisiana. She apparently thought that Louisianians would fall for her election-year reinvention as a moderate and wouldn't look at her liberal voting record. Louisiana is now ready to say good-bye to Mary.

I don't think anyone's taking it as a threat on her life. Rather it's a threat on her political future. As in "If you oppose me I will make sure you'll never work in this town again.

Mary was on committees, but when the democrats become the minority, they may well pull Mary and insert the dems the party (which is now sliding left at an accelerating pace) wants ... the least senior a pol is, the lower on the committee list, and the dems took quit a hit 11/5/02, threatening to make Landrieu a hanger on when January seats are assigned, provided she even gets back to DC, which I don't think would be good for Louisiana.

I'd simply say that it's a good sign: a panicky Landrieu, drenched in flop sweat, lashes out in desperation as her opponent begins to pull away.

Is this true? The Pub is ahead??????

Even that isn't bad,,I mean, this is Louisiana, a threat of no more lunch in this state is like lightyears worse than a threat on your political future or your life come to think of it. Lunch in Louisiana is like a holy of holies,,it is an EVENT in caps, it goes on forever, believe me.

Bush has cut AIDS research which has hurt blacks in Africa the hardest.

You mean it doesn't hurt the whites there too? Why is that?

A stunned Terrell replied, "She threatened me."

She should have said, "and the broom you rode in on, Mary."

I have only seen one where Suzie was up 8,,has Bernie Pinsonat's shop put one out? Somehow I think it will be closer than that,,I am afraid Mary with the aid of the dead and the New Orleans home boys will pull it out. BTW I still can't get over a Senatorial race involving Mary and Suzie,,it just seems more like a cheerleader race or something.

"Landrieu has begun to strike back. In a new television ad, she says Terrell favors tax relief only for the wealthy."

Well....guess those Dims will never figure out who it is that PAYS the BILLS (I think some of America has figured it out ala 11/5.)

It looks like the daughter of the corrupt mayor of New Orleans might be terrified at the thought of a Republican being in the position to have law enforcement take a good hard look at the corruption in New Orleans. If she does, then a whole bunch of people get to go to jail

If I were Terrell, I would not take this lightly, and would have my bodyguards be extra careful

Bush has cut AIDS research

The research results are in: AIDS is 100% preventable. The only true cure for Africa's ailments would be unacceptable to the world, and that would be armed takeover and a Marshall plan forcing all the 2-bit, greedy dictators and socialists out and free elections, free markets, and democracy in. Won't happen and therefore, misery will continue unabated.

"I heard this on TV last night and was stunned."

HA!!
Only because you're such a nice, civilized person, newslady.
I honestly cannot say this even raised an eyebrow on my behalf.

Lookit: These Liberal-Socialists are some damned mean people!
Moreover our civilized, composed, & almost *polite* conservative nature has -- up to just recently -- been our archilles heel & the very reason a William Jefferson Clinton could not only survive -- but thrive -- in the 90s.

Just think about the past ten years, for instance.
When dealing with the Leftists we've traditionally REFUSED to get down in the dirt & play hardball with 'em.
As such we've had our heads consistently handed to us; since, the PUBLIC by & large percieves our *civil* response as not *just* weakness.
BUT more a case of conservatives being on the wrong side of the issues.
Wrong inasmuch as we could not & would not defend ourselves by going to the extent we were required to by circumstance.
This must, & will, change.

"It is outrageous for Mary Landrieu to make such a statement, and Suzie has every reason to interpret this as a threat."

Maybe not "physical" but definitely political.
Of course; we're ALL thinking the same thing about *dear* Mary, eh?
We just ain't *saying* it; why, that wouldn't be polite now, would it? :o)

"But after all, Mary is a RAT, so maybe can't expect any more of her."

You shouldn't be expecting ANYTHING from this desperate, cornered [anaimal] except, "The Mother Of All Catfights."

"However, I don't believe that the people of Louisiana will tolerate such outrageous behavior from a Senatorial candidate."

IF THEY (La electorate) KNOWS ABOUT THIS BEHAVIOR!!
One CCRM person to another we understand it'll be the public's *perception* which'll win the day.
Right?

"We're going to vote in record numbers for Suzie Terrell, our Senatorial candidate who espouses true Louisiana values. Suzie will work with Pres. Bush for the benefit of Louisiana and our nation."

That's where you come into the picture with all your hard, tireless, selfless efforts to get out the *word*.
If you've time, ask PhiKapMom about what happened in OK; she worked as hard as anyone possibly could've & I'd bet learned a TON. In spite of the results.

...you're doing just swell, kid; give 'em hell!

Well, when Landrieu's main campaign theme is that Terrell is a meanie and runs a negative campaign, then this is worth making hay of. Besides, I would have initially taken that statement as a threat. What a strange thing to say!

Very astute point about Landrieu and her committees. Whatever committees she'd be on, it would be as a minority member. Terrell would be a member of the majority!

"She threatened me."

I've a feeling that Senator Terrell might find herself saying this a lot upon working in close proximity with Hillary.
