IDF kills senior West Bank al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades militant
By Amos Harel, Ha'aretz Correspondent, Ha'aretz Service and Agencies
An Israeli F-16 warplane fired a missile at a house in Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank on Tuesday, killing the regional commander of the militant Palestinian al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, witnesses said.
Hospital officials identified him as Ala'a Sabbagh, who Palestinian security sources said has been wanted by Israeli security forces for months.
The Israeli army had no immediate comment.
Witnesses who saw the plane attack said it was possible a second militant was buried beneath rubble in the refugee camp, which was heavily damaged in an Israeli incursion in April after a series of suicide bombings.
Sabbagh commanded the al-Aqsa Brigades, a group affiliated with Palestinian President Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement, in the Jenin area in the northern West Bank.
Earlier Tuesday, IDF troops killed two armed Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. One was killed when he approached the southern Gaza Strip settlement of Rafah Yam and the other was killed during a gunbattle as troops demolished the home of a wanted militant.
In the evening, Police declared a terror alert in the Sharon region for several hours due to fears that a Palestinian terrorist had infiltrated Israel, but it was later lowered. Roadblocks were set up on major roads in the area, which includes Kfar Sava, Hod Hasharon, Ra'anana, Hadera and Pardes Hannah.
Soldiers killed an armed Palestinian and wounded several others, including a 14-year-old, during an exchange of gunfire early Tuesday in the Gaza Strip town of Deir al-Balah. IDF tanks backed by attack helicopters thrust into Deir al-Balah and its refugee camp, and proceeded to destroy the home of Mohammed abu Huli.
The army said Huli is responsible for mortar attacks on Jewish settlements in the Strip and for dispatching the gunman who killed IDF tracker Sergeant Major Shigdaf Garmai, 30, on Friday near the Gush Katif settlement bloc.
Witnesses said Israeli forces exchanged heavy fire with gunmen in the town's refugee camp, before withdrawing after daybreak.
In the West Bank village of Kufr Khalil near Nablus, IDF troops bulldozed the two-story home of Adel Mansour, a fugitive member of the Al Aqsa Brigades, which is linked to Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement, Mansour's family said.
The army said it arrested 11 wanted Al Aqsa Brigades members in a sweep through the village that also netted 10 kilograms (22 pounds) of explosives and a mortar bomb.
Overnight Monday, IDF troops arrested 34 Palestinians across the West Bank, including senior Islamic Jihad activist Mohammed Musalma, in the West Bank village of Doha, near Bethlehem.

I sincerely hope that it was a direct hit. All of those murdering, violence-worshipping Palestinian "Freedom Fighters" need to be wiped out. Same goes for their brainwashed spawn. They want the state of Israel destroyed. They hate all Jews and Westerners (ie: non-Muslims) who won't believe their big, fat LIES, or who refuse to convert/kow-tow to their sick, perverted "religion of peace." No more compromises with ignorant, blood-thirsty, savage beasts who dance in the streets and revel in the calculated murder of innocent civilians (Israeli/US) and believe that the murderers who carry out such carnage are blessed by allah & serviced by sex slaves in the afterlife...

Why not just bomb the Al-Asqa mosque itself? It must be destroyed anyway, if the Third Temple is to be built, as must occur.

I think they own part of Ha-Aretz. I prefer Arutz Sheva, but they are observant--so after sundown, I have to go to the 2 main rags Ha and J. Post. I almost never go to the Post, because they don't have their own writers...They prefer Reuters, AP, Palestinians, (in other words--fair and balanced reporting (sarc.)

SO WHY DIDNT THEY BOMB THE MOSQE???
