DemocRATS Trying to Steal Another Election
December 1, 2002 | Saundra Duffy

Posted on 12/01/2002 5:46:20 PM PST by Saundra Duffy

Freeping Opportunity Monday, Dec. 2, 5 p.m., on the North Capitol Steps (L Street side), Sacramento. Here's the flyer:

NICOLE PARRA

CHEATER, LIAR, THIEF, FRAUD

(You be the judge)

Grand Jury is investigating:

Military voters DISENFRANCHIZED (Lemoore NAS is in this district).

Republican absentees trashed.

Bribed voters voted multiple times.

Non citizens voting.

Despite overwhelming evidence of voter fraud, Nicole Parra will be sworn in as Assembly Member representing the 30th District on Monday, December 2nd.

This flyer will be delivered to every State Assembly Member and every State Senator in order to warn them that a fraud is in their midst. Let this serve as a wake-up call to every decent candidate and office holder. Crime and corruption in the voting process is, no doubt, happening all over the state, but Nicole Parra has sunk to a new low, never before imagined (outside of Chicago, that is).

Saundra Duffy, head of Fresno/Central Valley Chapter of FreeRepublic.com, will deliver flyers to legislative offices BEFORE the swearing-in ceremony. In addition, Ms. Duffy will picket the capitol at 5 p.m. Monday with a sign exposing Nicole Parra for her disgraceful, despicable, disgusting behavior.

"We outed Gary Condit," Ms. Duffy said, "and we’ll out Parra, too. She does not deserve to sit in the State Assembly with the likes of Ray Haynes, and for her to take the place of the outgoing, honest and ethical Assembly Member Dean Flores is a slap in the face of every decent citizen of this State."

FreeRepublic.com is a conservative activist internet site dedicated to requiring elected officials to be morally and ethically responsible for their actions.

Nicole Parra and the democRATS are trying to steal an election right here in our own backyard. Parra spent almost two million dollars while Dean Gardner spent about $230,000. Every Assembly Member and State Senator will be greeted with the above flyer when they go to work in the morning. Please come join me for a well-deserved freep on the North Steps of the Capitol at 5 p.m. tomorrow (12/2, Monday); that's the L Street side. Come join me if you can. Thanks!!!

Serious inquiry;

If there's overwhelming evidence, why is she being sworn in anyway?

And what good will it do for every (I assume) complicit assemblyman to receive a 'hostile' flyer?

I apologize for not knowing what is going on out there.

Good question. I've followed it and can't see the "overwhelming evidence" either. They did have a jumpin' Jeffords-like character in their retiring Republican sheriff who campaigned hard for the Democrat. May have had more to do with the undecided voters than was thought. Fraud needs a bit more investigation however.

There comes a time when election results have to be certified and even though every question may not have been answered to everyone’s satisfaction the certified winner needs to be sworn in to office. If the Grand Jury finds evidence of fraud people will be charged. Unless the newly installed Assembly Member is charged in the fraud she is going to serve her term and it will be up to the voters to remove her come next election. After the Bush Gore Fiasco of a couple years ago the last thing I want to see is endless legal challenges leaving indeterminate election results. I don’t know all of the particulars of this race but it might be more useful to accept the results even if fraudulent and use the fraud allegations to clean up the voting process so that the future is better.

The process takes time and the law requires somebody to be sworn in by December 3rd. The flyer will hurt 'em and slow 'em down. It will serve notice that we are gaining strength, that we will not let them walk all over us.

Gardner's lawyers found 1,500 Republican absentee ballots in the trash. In addition, 1,500 military ballots were not counted. Parra's people sent fresh flowers to democrats who then voted multiple times. (It is illegal to send gifts of more than one dollar value to voters.) Non citizens voted. People who didn't live in the district voted. This is all coming out. Gardner may still win - IF THE DEMOCRAPS ARE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. For victory & freedom!!!

It amazes me that some of our fellow FReepers are not yet aware of the serious fraud problem.

It could be that they do not see it in their districts, But it is there!

It is there in most every Rat race. Especially if they may be close.

Even when they are not close, the Rat machine is very adept at forging names on the early vote ballots(one time called absentee), and making sure the rolls are not purged of the dead, the criminal and the no longer living in the state types.

It is rampant and it is happening every election.

Our brave poll watchers are seeing it first hand!

Don't you care that NON CITIZENS voted in this race? Don't you care that military absentees were trashed? Don't you care about bribery? Don't you care about people voting more than once? What do you care about? Why do you want Parra to get away with VOTER FRAUD without facing any consequences?! Don't you want to protect ALL voting in ALL races?! Don't you care about your own vote?! What's wrong with this picture?! Why do you hate Gardner so much? Or maybe you're in love with Nicole Parra. What gives?! One thing for sure: YOU DON'T KNOW ME VERY WELL. They don't call me "the destroyer" for nothing and I am not easily intimidated when it comes to a cause like this. Get out of my way, pal, cuz here I come. I will exhaust every avenue of redress. I got a permit for today's 5 p.m. freep. Yahoo! I have a question for you: Why are Republicans so skiddish about fighting against voter fraud? What are they afraid of? Some people are trying to intimidate me and discourage me from freeping today. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself. Some people are saying that I will make the other REPUBLICANS look bad. Can you imagine that? I'm a woman and I have bigger balls than all of them put together. Go figure! If Nicole Parra gets to stay in the Assembly, so be it, but it won't be until I have done all I can do to expose VOTER FRAUD. After a thorough investigation has been done - and they rule in Parra's favor - then, and only then, will I SHUT UP! But I believe there's a mountain of evidence that cannot be ignored. Evidence of voter fraud. If this is going on in other races in California, why on earth don't the REPUBLICANS want it exposed. Again, I ask, why are they afraid to fight for what's right?! By the way, my sources are reliable, and the media is FINALLY starting to look into this. It's a national humiliation and disgrace for California. In fact, I hope the national media picks it up so that democraps will be put on notice. For victory & freedom!!!

The only thing I can figure is that some of them have "positions" they don't want to lose. I don't understand why some of them are so spineless, especially considering that it is obvious that the Rats get away with so much because they're noisy, even though they're dead wrong. So why should we be afraid of making noise when we're right? Nothing was ever accomplished by hiding and keeping quiet. Thank God for FReepers who are not intimidated from EITHER side! Get out there and give 'em h*ll. Or as Truman (?) said, "tell them the truth and make them think it's hell!"

I'll be looking forward to your after FReep report. I hope you can get someone to join you.

Dean Gardner has conceded the race but IF THE REPUBLICANS HANG TOUGH, the investigation will continue. Here's the newspaper article from the Bakersfield Californian newspaper. Please note that Trice Harvey, THE REPUBLICAN for that area, wants the GOP to cease and desist. The freep goes on today . . . Nicole Parra will be held accountable for the part she played. Here's the article:

Gardner concedes election to Parra
Parra's outside dollars not unusual

By CHRISTINE BEDELL, Californian staff writer
e-mail: cbedell@bakersfield.com

Friday November 29, 2002, 10:25:07 PM

Dean Gardner conceded defeat in the 30th Assembly District race Friday, more than three weeks after Election Day, and wished winner Nicole Parra well in Sacramento.

"In the spirit of good sportsmanship and fair play, I wish Miss Parra the best of luck in Sacramento," the Republican said at a news conference.

Gardner, behind Democrat Parra by 265 votes, said he does not plan to request a recount or launch an election contest after the results are certified. The certification deadline is Tuesday.

He said he does not know if the Republican Party will seek a recount -- which Gardner said would cost the requester more than $100,000 -- or sue to set aside the results and hold a special election.

In fact, Gardner tried to distance himself from the legal action the GOP has taken since the polls closed. That includes successfully suing to obtain the names of certain voters to determine if they cast votes legally.

Gardner said he has not made any of the major legal decisions.

"My race stopped on Nov. 5," Gardner said.

Gardner said he and his wife alone decided to give up. He said he has no plans to seek the 30th District seat or any elected position again.

Parra, meanwhile, is scheduled to be sworn in Monday. On Friday she was preparing to open main offices in Sacramento and Hanford and a satellite office in Bakersfield.

"A part of me is relieved this chapter of the election is over," she said. "I wish Mr. Gardner and his wife the best."

Attorney Tim Mills, who represented the Republican Party in its investigation of 30th District ballot casting, said he did not have authority to discuss what the Republicans now will do.

He instead reiterated that a recount would have to be requested within five days of election certification. Mills again noted that would do Gardner little good since recounts merely test the accuracy of counting machines, not whether people voted legally.

Or, Mills said, someone could sue to invalidate the results. The deadline to do that is longer; one would have to show there were enough voting irregularities to affect the outcome of the race, he said.

Trice Harvey, vice chairman of the Central Valley region of the California Republican Party, said the GOP should follow Gardner's lead.

"If Dean Gardner concedes, we all should concede," Harvey said.

Gardner's announcement capped an eight-month race contentious from the start.

Gardner, 60, accused Parra of lacking life experience, leaning too left politically and being beholden to the liberal groups who gave her money.

Parra, 32, said she had far more experience than her opponent in developing political consensus and moving legislation as an aide to Rep. Cal Dooley, D-Hanford.

For about five hours after the polls closed, Gardner was ahead of Parra by a few hundred votes. Then, after Kern County's last results came in early Nov. 6, Parra stole the lead.

That lead shrunk and grew -- but held -- over the next three weeks.

Parra declared victory twice. The first time came Nov. 8 when her lead expanded to 192 votes and it didn't look like there were enough uncounted district ballots to swing the race Gardner's way.

The second was Nov. 22 when Fresno and Kern counties counted their last ballots and Parra was up by 265 votes.

The post-election battle got particularly nasty in mid-November when the race landed in Fresno County Superior Court. The Republican Party sued to get the names of people who cast provisional ballots in Fresno County so it could determine if they voted legally.

People cast provisional ballots when their name doesn't appear on voting records at their polling place or there's some other question about their eligibility to vote.

Elections workers determine whether to count their ballot later.

Parra attorneys sued to block release of the names, citing privacy concerns. On Nov. 20 a judge ordered Fresno County to divulge the names but denied a GOP request to delay provisional-ballot processing so the party could get its investigation under way first.

Gardner said Friday he has not been part of the Republicans' legal fight other than to periodically be updated on it. He said he's only spoken to the lawyers a couple times.

"I don't want to be looked at like Al Gore," Gardner said.

Gardner said he did not oppose the party's actions, though.

Gardner said he will continue running his Bakersfield businesses, including a construction company and gunstock-making business.

He said he learned a lot of lessons over the last year -- hire good people, raise money early and that "there are huge numbers of people out there who think the way we do."

The 30th District includes northwest Kern County, parts of east Bakersfield plus Arvin and Lamont. It also contains pieces of Tulare, Kings and Fresno counties.

The Assembly's next regular session begins in January. The governor may call a special legislative session in December, but it's unclear whether all members or just committee leaders will assemble, Parra said.

Looks like the Republicans are getting ready to roll over and let themselves be kicked in the ass - AGAIN! Anyway, the freep goes on because Nicole Parra is stealing this election right from under our noses. The RATS spent almost $2 million dollars on this race while Dean Gardner's side spent a little over $230,000. There is no way Parra could have won this contest fair and square. At least she'll have to deal with me and see my sign. And everyone will know she's an illegal sitting Assembly Member for TWO SOLID YEARS. There's still hope IF the Republicans will follow through. Everyone knows there was voter fraud up the wazoo but do the Republicans have the guts to pursue it? For victory & freedom!!!

Thanks for all you're doing Sandra. My only concern with some of these issues has been the unwillingness of Republicans to realize that the rules of the game have changed. We can no longer rely on legislative action...ever again. Only legal action counts. If Gardner doesn't want to fight, that's fine. He still has to do business in an area that was at least 40 some percent for Para. The Republicans, however, must seek every legal remedy available. If they stop, then don't give them another thought, they have defeated themselves.
