90% of Canadians live within 100 miles of the US border.

Thanks for that. That was the figure in my head but I didn't have anything to verify it handy so I went wide. I'd rather take it on the chin around here for underestimating :-)

You mean the mighty Israeli soldiers that fought with us in Vietnam, uh Korea, somewhere else? The only military action I can think of is when they bombed one of our ships and intentionally killed American sailors. Besides that they have made enemies for us in the entire Arab world. And spied on us too. Yeah, they have done a lot for us.

That's right! If it weren't for the Jews the WTC would still be standing..... < / sarcasm >

Just wondering mitch if anyone ever figured out how many Americans live within 100 miles of the border.

Interesting question, and no, I've never seen any estimate. Obviously it's nowhere near the proportion of Canucks but let's pull out the handy map here...

Starting at the East coast and moving westward, major cities (population roughly 100,000 or greater...I'm inevitably going to miss some here) within (approximately) 100 miles as the eagle flies from the standard representation of the Canada/U.S. border:

Starting in Maine: Portland, Burlington, Utica, Syracuse, Rochester, Buffalo, Erie, Youngstown, Cleveland, Toledo, Detroit, Bay City, Duluth, Grand Forks, Fargo, Spokane, Tacoma and Seattle.

Basically several million East of where the western border of Ontario meets Minnjisota at Lake of the Woods and then relatively few until you hit Washington.

Interesting. Thanks for the question!
