If lawyers see fit to stand up to them anyway, how can that be a bad thing?

Well obviously if these guys are trying to sue the mob, its not a bad thing. But these guys are suing everybody. They are attempting to shakedown legitimate businesses. I would imagine that if they shakedown 1000 small businesses that at least one of them would likely be a money laundering front. The mob might not take too kindly to being extorted.

When sharks have it out with other sharks, that can make for better swimmin' for us little folk :-)

This could only happen in California.

I will, because I've lived abroad where consumer rights are a joke and I don't want us diluting our own rights just because some lawyers allegedly take it to an extreme even as those complaining peculiarly can't get political support to change the laws to favor them. I'm not saying the Trevor group's right, only that our system's the lesser of evils.

The lesser of evils is evil. You are supporting evil.

As for why tort reform has a hard time gaining traction: kindly note which class makes the laws. (Here's a hint: it's lawyers.) They are not willing to do anything that might threaten their livelihood, particularly after they get term-limited out.

These sharks are not having it out with other sharks. These sharks are attempting to extort from legitimate businesses that don't have the money to have it out with a lawfirm that exists for the sole purpose of litigating small businesses into bankruptcy.

Obviously you have no idea what is going on here. Perhaps you should read a little bit about this Trevor Law Group before you respond. You can look them up on Yahoo and follow some of the search results. When you're done with that then come back for an intelligent discussion.

Most states don't have such term limits, although politicians who do things that the public doesn't want often find out just how quickly their terms can end. Declawing consumer rights advocates hasn't given too many politicians much political capital thus far...Remember what happened to Quayle?

So those who don't agree with you are by definition less intelligent. Fortunately we still live in a free country in which you can think and state such thoughts. Some bad always comes with the good though, but I can endure misstatements a lot more than I can endure a society where no statement other than something embracing the status quo is acceptable.

I know a business owner who just got served by Damien Trevor. The charges are completely false. He is one of the most even-tempered men I know, and his first words after reading the note was "Which is cheaper, filing a countersuit, paying the SOBs off, or arranging for a fatally unpleasant mishap for Mr. Trevor and his associates?"

God help America when the third option starts looking like the best one.

No, he's saying you're ignorant, which is not the same as "stupid."

I can make a very safe assumption, however; you obviously do not own a business of your own. I dare you to go into business in Orange, Los Angeles, or Riverside county with this jackal on the loose.

Between the trial lawyers, the burdensome regulations, and a lot of this other stuff, it's a miracle businesses decide to even operate here.

No wonder they are cutting corners elsewhere.

I did not say that you were less intelligent. I just pointed out that it was obvious from your former posts that you were simply not INFORMED!

But after reading your latest reply, it is clear that your self-assessment may, in fact, be correct.

"The volunteers at Constituent Services at the RNC get to continue their service there (which they try and parlay into better networking) if they tell callers what callers want to hear. With campaign finance reform, though, the RNC's potential influence is dropping considerably. "

The difference being is that my Aunt works there!

I think we are talking past each other...I was just letting you know that my Aunt passed my message to Marc Racicot last week. I did not speak with constituant services. As to your other point it may well be true.
