Without the U.S. to defend them, I about believe that Europe could and would be conquered by just about anyone who attacked them. Even if the EU countries had larger military forces, it seems like they have just about zero will to fight. One wonders if they could even be bothered to defend their own homeland against attack. If they faced modern day Muslim invaders, today's spineless Europeans would react more like Charles Nelson Reilly than Charles Martel.
