Tell us how crowded/not crowded it was when you went to vote!

Did you see voter fraud and what is the talk about exit polling and the possible outcome?

For us Lousiana-parrish-knowledge-challenged, can you tell us which parishes are mainly conservative and which are mainly New Orleans? Thanks

It wasn't crowded at all at 7:30 a.m. at the place I vote in Southwest Louisiana. There's been very little excitement in this area for Landrieu, just the usual assortment of union officials, trial lawyers, elected officials wanting federal handouts, and not as much black support as usual. In fact the blacks I work with who have mentioned it told me they dont like Landrieu and at least one said he is voting for Terrell.

It is cold!

Please define "cold" to one raised in Wisconsin now living in Arizona. 30's? What is the forecast for the day?

Thanks in advance.

Had a house in the 6000 block of Vicksburg back in 84 to 87. How's the 'hood.' Streets still beyond belief.

Were you there for the freeze in 85 or 86 when it got down to 9 degrees and the power plants froze. Remember huddled (before kids) around the gas stove. Great memeries! Was there on business on Wednesday and Thursday. Crawfish are back a Yeager's, and damn good.

I wonder if the democrat dead have risen for their traditional vote yet? The rat party may have to keep the polls open for a long time to accommodate them!

I'm expecting 5 million votes to be cast today in a state with 2 million registered voters. Individuals who voted early and often for Landrieu today include:

Louis Armstrong
Hale ("Anybody Looking for Me?") Boggs
Jim Garrison
Andrew Jackson
Mahalia Jackson
Jean Lafitte
Earl Long
Huey Long
Pistol Pete Maravich
Carlos ("Livarsi `na pietra di la scarpa!") Marcello
Jelly Roll Morton
Lee Harvey Oswald

...and that was just in one half hour in one precinct!

But it's not necessarily that simple. Landrieu is an LSU alum, and that counts for something to certain LSU people, particularly since Terrell's a Tulane grad. The antipathy between the two schools is such that there are people in this state who simply will not vote for an alumnus of one school or the other, regardless of party or ideology. In a close race, little things like that count.

My father and I just returned from voting... ... it's cold outside!

Excellent news! Democrats are literally fair weather voters.

Sounds like a John Grisham novel..

So LSU fans out of the state in Atlanta would have not been the negative that we thought?

Sreets still horrible! People that visit from out of town are horrified by them. I still love Lakeview though!

Fortunately I moved here from Baton Rouge right after that freeze.

Thanks!

I couldn't see living the rest of my life shivering in Wisconsin either!

I won't ask you if your 4 kittys voted ... we don't DO THAT sort of thing! (My dog does vote in some of the polls on FR threads, tho'!)

I can't say whether it would or it wouldn't. I'm just saying that it's wrong to automatically assume every LSU alumnus/supporter is a Terrell voter. I personally know several who are strong for Landrieu.

Things are complicated here, and the interest groups don't always line up the way you'd think.

In the small town where I live, both candidates came through a few days apart. I went to both rallies, and I saw a LOT of the same people at both. I'm sure Landrieu's and Terrell's staffers were very pleased with the response. But a lot of the crowd (maybe the majority) were just there for the show. Who knows how they're really going to vote.

It may be a nail biter. But I won't be surprised if EITHER Landrieu or Terrell runs away with it by five points or more.
