What Jesus drives: An Eyewitness Account
The Charlotte Observer | 12/08/02 | Rich Nossel

Letter to the Editor:

I know what Jesus drives -- a white 1993 Astro van. I know this because he painted my house last year along with Miguel, Juan and Ramon. They did a fine job.

I thought he drove the moneychangers out of his father's house in his Fury. Get it?

Did this author advise Him of the recall of 1993 Astro vans? The disgronificator needs a special rubber seal.

With what painters charge, that's what they drive when they're off the job.

If Jesus were alive today, he wouldn't drive. The teamsters wouldn't let him. He would be part of Jesus,Inc. Jesus,Inc. would have a roadshow that would dwarf the Rolling Stones. Jesus,Inc. would have an armada of Freightliners and motorcoaches with a thirst for diesel that would require a few dozen oil wells from our favorite ME country.

The local paper printed a cartoon last week; Christ is on an auto lot, staring into an opened SUV...

"Hey, this is fantastic! I could fit all twelve Apostles in there!!"

Well, if you can get 18 college students into a VW bug, you ought to be able to get 12 apostles into an Accord.

Brilliant! Ba-dum-dum-dum! Great car, that Fury - He even passed the Devil in it - "Get thee behind me, Satan!"
