The only ones surprised are the AP writers.

Right, like a UN bureaucrat is going to decide literal life and death issues for the American people - I don't think so.
To: HAL9000
One week after its release it will be on the net and the whole world can decide.
BTW the infor for building a succesful A bomb has been available since the sixties for anybody with t inclination to research the information.

And China says, "Hey, there's some pretty good stuff in here!" No, Clinton already gave them that stuff.
To: Common Tator
Right. As if the inspectors were going to wade through all that stuff alone.
Why be on the Security Council if it means you can't handle security matters?
I would love to hear the conversations behind the scenes on this. It will be America that determines what is truth and what is hidden anyway. Does anyone really think the U.N. could even handle this information without the U.S., Britain?

Blix thought he was God for a while, and too bad someone came along and burst his bubble.

Time for Blix to hit the pavement, looking for a new job.

My guess is that Blix did not do this alone but had Kofi's approval. He will, however, take the fall.

Ronald Reagan said, "trust but verify."
The United States should adopt the position that "failure to verify verification constitutes a material breach."
If we're not satisfied that the UN does its job, then our security has not been satisfied. If there is not acceptable verification, then more of our citizens will die unless we go unilaterally and tell the UN to take a hike.

It means Bush told the UN give it to us or we will just go ahead and attack Saddam while you are redacting. Bush had them told if you want to play games, go ahead. While you are playing those games we will win the war.Hardball was played with these slimy UN creatures. What you describe was said and a few other things. And these rats have the nerve to hit America up for a 1.5 billion dollar "loan" (never to repaid) to renovate their New York City headquarters?

My question is: How dare the U. N. presume to tell any nation, muchless the U. S. that they cannot see the full report? Talk about unmitigated gall! What is there to hide? The people in power in the U. N. are small-minded little men who are on a power trip. It's frightening to think that they have any authority at all over anyone or anything.

I never doubted we would get a copy. In fact we probably already have it. It was flown on one of our planes into our country, right? I wonder how many copy machines we had on board. CD
To: HAL9000
Personally, I wasn't surprised. When the administration seemed nonplussed about it I knew that Bush knew this was under control.
