This landmark location, built in 1897, was formally an inn and later became St. George's Chapel during the Depression in 1929. St. George's Chapel catered to the local merchants and residents, which were mostly of Syrian Catholic descent. This area came to be known as "Little Syria." In 1979 the church retired, and the Moran family acquired and converted the site and began operating on December 26, 1986.
Currently it is beautifully decorated for the holidays!

Paypal is working well and thanks to those of you who have already prepaid.
I have a list of parking garages in the area and that will be posted soon on this thread for those of you who inquired.

Parking garages at zip code 10006 which is Moran's zip.
Edison Parking - 140 Liberty St. 791-5488
Edison Parking - 70 Greenwich St. 425-1065
Then I checked for Lower Manhattan near Washington St. and came up with these:
Greenwich Parking 438 Greenwich St. 274-9883
Greenwich Street Parking - 377 Greenwich St. 431-4714
Jordan Parking - 415 Washington St. - 226-7437
Katz Parking 308 Greenwich St. - 267-1580
Thanks to Stanz for looking these up! I suppose you can call for prices and such if you are going to use a parking garage and report back to us.

Bump. Am I ever in the mood for a party.

What a superb job! Thank you so much for all you have done to make this party happen.
The 1 and 9 trains let you off closer to Moran's than the R and the N. You just walk one block west to Washington Street and hang a right, and it's right there, a few doors in. The R and the N leave you off two blocks away from the same right turn.

Thanks for the ping. I am sorry I will not be able to make it. I thought I was going to be able to and I was looking forward to meeting all of the area FReepers but as it turns out we have plans on that day. Everything sounds delicious and I know this is a great time that I am going to miss. If I could be there I would.
Have an awesome time everyone and hopefully there will be another get together, in the future, that my wife and I will be able to attend.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!!!!

Great job! I love Moran's.
I'll be there, but the wife will not. (some of her family will be in town that day.) My brother ("No Left Turn") will probably be attending also.

Contacted Edison Parking at 70 Greenwich St. They charge $12-15 to park on Saturday for the hours of 12PM to 5. The phones listed for Edison Parking at 140 Liberty Street, Greenwich Parking at 438 and 377 Greenwich St came back as being out of service but I want to try them again on Monday. There was no asnwer at Jordan Parking and I couldn't understand the guy at Katz Parking.
If you use a garage, be sure to tell them how long you want to stay and ask the charges.
To: dead
dead, I doubt I'll be able to attend. As I told lisa privately, I have to attend a family funeral in a few days.
You guys have fun!
To: GunsareOK
NYC charges a tax on parking fees of close to 20%- Better ask if that's included.

Quick note:
To those of you who paid in advance via paypal or other arrangements THANKYOU.
If any of you still want to do that pay via paypal :
Paypal
Use email morans2002@aol.com
You can have a debit to your checking account or pay via credit card in this manner.
I will notify you as soon as I get the payment via freepmail. I am keeping very good records. Otherwise remember to have Cash at the door on the 28th.
> Send me Freepmail
I have to cut off snail mail tomorrow as I wont get them in time due to the holidays. SO if you need to make this arrangement contact me tonight or tomorrow.
I should be there by 12:30 for you early birds : )
Also if you had confirmed that you will attend in the past and will no longer be attending please freepmail me so I can correct my count. Let me know if you are bringing guests ect. I really want the count as close as possible so they dont scimp on the food.
Freegards,
- Lisa ( excuse typos, I am tired and still not 100 %)

The Lower Manhattan Development Corporation (LMDC) has put the designs on display at the Wintergarden. Someone suggested on an earlier thread that the Wintergarden was the place to go to view Ground Zero. Is anyone up for going to the Wintergarden to see the potential designs for the redevelopment of the site? If you follow the link to Civic Alliance, you can get a survey form and then submit your opinion as to the designs.

And the proceeds will be used for your visit to Jimmy Choo, darling. ;) Hell no!!! That will be taken out of your own personal appearance fee. My own fee is seperate *L* As my late mother would say to me Dad: ``What is yours is mine, and what's mine is me own! *L*''

Yeah, I'm totally out of touch with all that, just an old man. Hope you guys put on a great show at the party, (Irish dancing?) Speeches?, at least interviews!
Having previous engagements, unable to attend. Family comes first, but FReepers come second! Have a great time!

Oooh-err!!! The thought of men getting all fisticuffy would be worth the plane ride *L* C'mon, what Irish lass doesn't gett excited about a good ol' baroom brawl *L*
Yes, it would change my thoughts on this!
Unfortunately I won't be there (at least physically). I've made two social trips across the Atlantic this year, and with Christmas..funds just aren't stretching that far to allow it to happen again so soon. (I was in Canada in November, so I just can't afford to go...otherwise, I'd be there with bells on *L*). BUT, I do intend to either call Ivan on his cell phone and talk to the Freeper friends I've met on the day or vice versa! :0) BTW, Incorrigible...next time you are in Ireland (or next time I'm in NYC)..hell or high water won't stop me from buying you a pint of the good stuff *S*

(Don't think it's INS, those guys couldn't find their (^*&%* from a hole in the ground!) Pics will be posted on a "as funny as they get priority" So please have fun and ensure all others do as well!

To: Happygal
That's too bad. I might have ditched the family for the day!
Unfortunately, when I'm in Dublin, my in-laws pretty much have our entire schedule planned! Plus with the kids, the only place we could meet would be the Dublin Zoo! ( a fav of my daughter's)
We usually get to do some adult things when there though. A relation (through marriage) owns this place.

We could meet there some time. My wife might get a tad suspicious though!
If you find yourself crossing the ha'penny bridge, stop by and tell Tom a Yank in New Jersey highly recommended the place.
To: alisasny
Still in the plans to be there!
To: Incorrigible
I've often had a drink in the Temple Bar.
Next time I'm up, I'll certainly do that :-)
BTW...why would your wife get suspicious? She's gonna be there, ain't she? *L*
