Stating further "there is no way I would resign over this".
To: Joe Hadenuf
Good for you Trent!
Now, let the call go out to all Republicans.
Grow a frickin spine and fight back against this Democrat bullshit racist stereotype campaign.

Good for him! These dems calling for his head cannot be allowed to call the shots for Republicans. Trent Lott is not a racist, but he is human and we all make mistakes. Enough is enough.
To: Joe Hadenuf
Excellent.
The GOP can now vote him out of the leadership spot in January, and the good citizens of Mississippi can choose to replace him in the next primary.

Translation: he was told that Hillary would pass his FBI file to a liberal lapdog presstitute if he stepped aside, and he decided that being an ineffective Majority Leader was more important than advancing the Republican agenda.
Thanks a lot, Vacant Lott!

This is good, but it will be also really nice if while loudly talking of not resigning he would quetly not run for leadership in the next Congress.

I hate to think about how much political capital we'll have to spend just to live with this blockhead for the next two years.
To: rintense
Wrongo. Grow a frickin spine and resign, Mr. Lott. Your remarks were reprehensible and this joke of a press conference just confers to the world that you do not get it. RESIGN

He seems to only have a problem when he opens his mouth.

Then based on your logic, I'd guess almost 70% of all Senators would also have to resign.

To: RobRoy
Whatever happened to the idea of "moving on"? He has apologized on numerous ocassions.
(I wish Lott would resign as majority leader because he is ineffective--but there is no way he should resign his seat. He needs to get back to doing the business the people of Mississippi elected him to do.)

Stay the course.Stay as majority Leader. If he flunks in 12 months time for failing to get the Bush agenda through by lack of effort and smarts, then have a leadership review.
Let's see what this supposed "idiot" can do with a WH and a Majority in the same party.
To: Joe Hadenuf
Jump or be pushed, Trent. The hour of revenge has struck.

Trent Lott is not a racist, but he is human and we all make mistakes. Enough is enough. Amen to that. N.O.W. is trying their best to get him out since he said he was commited to passing the PBA ban last month.
Lott stays, PBA goes!
To: SwordofTruth
I need to make it clear that my position has nothing to do with this event. It's jut that I don't want an invertebrate as the Republican senate majority leader.

.If he flunks in 12 months time for failing to get the Bush agenda through by lack of effort and smarts, then have a leadership review. He flunked on impeachment, which was the most important issue of all. He tied the rope around his neck, it would be improper not to hang him.

Maybe this weasel homo cheerleader could have shown as much spine during Slick Willie's impeachment? Only when his own worthless ass is on the line does he choose to fight.

Jump or be pushed, Trent. The hour of revenge has struck. You wouldn't be threatening a Senator of the USA, would you? Not a wise move on a public forum dude.

Pull your claws in. 70% of the Senate did not make reprehensible racist comments one week ago. This clod did. My party, the Republican Party, does not IN ANY WAY represent his statements. His remarks were offensive to all blacks and to most whites.
I'm interested in seeing blacks become Republicans. This pompous blowhard has still not responded as to what he meant when he said "we wouldn't have had all the trouble we've had" if Thurmond had been elected President.
I don't give a rat's behind what the dems/left want. I want my Party to have integrity and to live out its integrity. He should resign as Majority Leader, period. He should remain a senator - Mississippi can decide his fate in the next election.

Hey now, don't make a smockery of this!
To: Endeavor
I got this from another thread, but it works here as well:
This is about EVERY SINGLE REPUBLICAN growing a spine and fighting back against absolutely baseless and false allegations from a corrupt group of liberals who can not face the reality of a Republican majority. The stereotype against Republicans will not change until we challenge them, and set the record straight.
Lott resigning will be the beginning of the attack on the Republicans. He's a dope, but by catering to the will of the fascists we all lose.
