Firy debate on Fox Wire about Lott.
Posted on 12/15/2002 7:40:18 PM PST by Sparta
Gregg Jarrett just moderated a debate between a member of the Civil Rights Industry and the head of the white separatist Council of Conservative Citizens. The subject was Trent Lott. It was interesting listening to the head of the council defend Lott by defending Thurmond's 1948 campaign. Jarrett repeatedly pointed out that Thurmond's only issue was segregation and the council's head kept on splitting hairs so Jarrett switched to other race-baiter. The represenative for the Civil Rights Industry was named Tyler, I think. Jarrett pointed out that all Lott was doing trying to cheer up an old man. The industry's represenative rambled about how Lott needed to resign and apologize. Finally Jarrett asked the council's represenative whether or not the council was a white separatist organization. The council's represenative of course denied it. However, a visit to their website will tell you otherwise and if you are still not convinced, link to their many links.

I think Gregg Jarrett has gotten better at Fox. I was pleasantly surprised by this interview.
BTW: Don't ask me for the link to the Council of Conservative Citizens.

Didn't Jarrett recently jump ship from the sinking MSNBC?
not to pick on Jarrett but I think it would be pretty hard to come off looking bad when you are moderating a debate between two loons.
Good point. But Jarrett has begun acting like a reporter instead of a propagandist. BTW: Did you see the interview and if so, can tell the names of the people involved?

Bob Barr spoke to the CCC. Several times. He's quite a darling around here.
Is Barr a racist?

Here is the Council of Conservative Citizen's homepage:
Council of Conservative Citizens
I know some members and went to a couple of meetings. Most of the folks in the group started as an opposition to the flaming liberalism of the 60's and 70's. Like many groups, the CofCC picked up some racists along the way. I personally do not think everyone in the group is a racist. They are sort of like the John Birch Society with a Southern flavor.

So you support segregation or slavery?
The idea of a all white, Protestant nation died even before the Republic was founded. Maryland began as a Catholic colony. Benjamin Bannacker, a black man, was the architect for Washington DC. The Confederacy included black and Catholic soldiers. Hell even the Confederate Attorney General was Jewish. America may have been predominately white and Protestant at the founding and there may have been racism to attempt to keep it this way, but even great men make mistakes. Most Americans of all races and religions began to see themselves truly as one people as we have matured as a nation. We have also elected a Catholic President(admired by many here on FR), appointed a black Secretary of State, a black National Security Advisor, among other minorites both conservative and liberal who have contributed much to the Republic.

Didn't get to see it, but you've piqued my interest -- I'll have to start watching Jarrett more often. Usually, I turn Fox off when he is on.
Your ignorance is again on display.
Tell me the racist statements of Condi Rice, Colin Powell, JC Watts, etc.

You may not believe this but Gordon Baum of the CofCC used to live not to far from me. I've also heard him on the radio talking about the busing issue that started back in the 1970's. He had is facts right on that issue.

The John Birch Society is not racist. They are conservative and push a conspircay theory view of history and the Lefties like to claim the Birchers are racist.

I honestly can't answer that. I never once called Lott a racist. I believe he got carried away at a old man's birthday party. Not even Strom Thurmond today shares the beliefs of his own 1948 campaign. But, I still think Lott should resign as Majority Leader because of his stupidity.

For those who might have missed the obvious parallel, compare "CCC" and "KKK."
I oppose all racial preferances, but can you defend Mr. Baum's current beliefs on race?

"Bob Barr spoke to the CCC. Several times. He's quite a darling around here.

I don't know. However, he is a jackass for speaking to such an organization. We slam democrats we genuflect to Sharpton and even worse Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam. I put the CCC in the same league.
A colorblind meritocracy (espoused by most conservatives) is a worthy goal. I am not willing to give up on the goal or concept. If the conservatives/Republicans can't clean their own house and practice what we preach, then we should expect no better from the public at large or our political opponents.

If his fellow GOP Senators think he's stupid, they can vote him out.
He's not going to resign over "stupidity."
Would you quit your job if your co-workers thought you were "stupid"?

>I oppose all racial preferances<
I am all for that. But you know, that groups like the CofCC are going to spring up when busing, quotas, political correctness, repreations, and civil rights shake-downs occur. For every action, there is a re-action.

Bump!!! Clinton's abuses were why the militia movement appeared in the 90s.

I agree with the fact Lott probably won't resign. I do think though he will be forced by either Frist or Nicoles.

I agree. That is what I am saying. I do not think the CofCC is any more racist as a whole than the Birchers or many other groups. Are there some racists in the CofCC? Yes. Are the majority of members racists? No.
Nice to see some lucidity and especially from a neighbor.

Some of my fellow Tennesseans may disagree with my views of Frist but here it goes:
I think Bush and Rove clearly want "loyal" followers. I do not think that it is any co-incidence that Elizabeth Dole, Cununu Jr., and Lamar Alexander all won Senate seats. I am from Tennessee. Rove interfered in our Republican Senatorial primary by asking the more conservative Ed Bryant to drop put and let Alexander have the nomination. Bryant refused but Alexander won anyway.
I do not have much liking for Frist. He is part of the Belle Meade gang here in Nashville along with Alexander, Al Gore, and newly elected Governor Phil Bredesen. Frist hacked me off because many of his own family and friends financially backed the Democrat Bredesen over the conservative Republican, Van Hillery.
Frist's family started Hospital Corporation of America which has gobbled up most hospitals across America. He is too far left for me but probably fits waht Bush wants. The Bushes have always been attracted to the more moderate, big money Republicans. Frist is a good spokesperson and certainly won Bush's favor by leading the Republican Senate election campaign this year as well as selling the Bush message about bio-terrorism and smallpox.
For much of the 20th Century, the largest single denomination was Catholicism. Argueably the most powerful group finacially in America are Jews. Blacks invented Jazz, contributed heavily to rock and roll, and also created the blues. A black man named George Washington Carver saved Southern agriculture by introducing crop rotation. As for American culture, the multiethnic fad only began in the Sixties and I bet many if not most minorties consider themselves Americans first and are loyal to the Constitution and the beliefs in our Founding Fathers. If you feel you cannot accept the changing demographics of America, fine. I however am more optimistic than you about the future of whites and all other Americans.

Hey it's a big day for Tennessee politicians. Gore is out and Frist may be in as majority leader.
I would like to know what you define as hostile to whites?

RINOs are trash no matter whoever they are. BTW: I agree with you about the Birchers. They may be kooks but they are not racists. They don't even advocate segregation, unlike the CofCC.

>militia movement appeared in the 90s.<
Recently a militia has sprung up in Arizorna to defend private property from illegals and drug smugglers since the Federal or state governments won't do anything to protect our borders. What do you think of them ?

I happen to support the militia forming in Arizona. If the government will not protect its citizens, the citizenery has every right to defend itself.

Substitute Americans for White People and we really don't disagree on much.(Except I oppose segregation and think the current de facto is a tragedy) Also, do you support the concept of a colorblind meritocracy?
posted on 12/15/2002 9:04:13 PM PST
Yes. Of course. Al Gore's Dad voted against the Civil Rights act of 1964. No matter where you go in the world, you will find racists. No society or group that I know of is free of racial, caste, social, or religious differences. Tis the human condition.
I thnk it's important to draw a distinction between someone who is a true racist (not the leftist PC definition in use today) and a racialist
. I just visited the CCC website and it struck me as being more white racialist than anything else. [A racialist is a person who is poud of their ethnic heritage and seeks to preserve and advance the cause of his particular ethic group without objecting to other groups doing the same thing for themselves - except when other groups are advocating the extermination his own group.] The main issue I have with racialists like Jared Taylor is that they tend to buy into leftist groupthink along with accepting the racial spoils system that was established starting in the 1960s. (They simply want their share of the pie, so to speak.) This, of course, rather works against the idea of a free country made up of like-minded individuals
who can join together to further their ideals - the conservative cause, for example - and plays into leftist hands.
Even so, I do think it is valid and moral to desire the preservation of the different nationalities and ethnicities God placed upon this planet for His divine purposes - and to oppose their destruction. (Hence our opposition to the Islamist desire to eradicate the Jews from the face of the earth.) It's just that the line between ethnic pride and racism seems to wear awfully thin at times. Your comment on the general state of whites in America (it's even more so elsewhere in the West) is quite valid. It seems to me that a self-hate has been instilled into the minds of a great number, possibly the majority, of whites. This has been commented upon by the conservative black writer Elizabeth Wright, by the way.
>the citizenery has every right to defend itself.<
I agree 100%. This has been a good subject, its great to live in a country that has free speech but I now have to sign off for tonight and will check back tommorrow.
One last thing.
Gordon Baum lives in the St. Louis Area
St. Louis has been ranked as the 4th most segragrated city in the country.
St. Louis has been ranked as the most dangerous city in the country ( heard it right on Fox News )
Do you think there is a connection ?

I think these whack jobs are best left to their own thoughts. I don't think you are going to convince him of anything and to argue with him is to lend credence to his positions. Just talk about him. Don't talk to him.
>No society or group that I know of is free of racial, caste, social, or religious differences. Tis the human condition.<
I agree with you. My problem is that some groups don't think that they are afflected by this and the leftist media backs them up.

The idea of an "All Black Nation" is constantly discussed in the "Ultra Racist" wing of the Democratic Party. That would be the "Commie Black Caucas". Why don't they resign? Why don't we start a "Conservative Firestorm" every time they open their racist mouths? Flood Rush, O Reilly and Hannity with the remarks of these racists and defeat them at their own game. ENOUGH!!!
I jump in an read some of their articles from time to time.
I dont think they are near the racist the NAACP is from what Ive read and though I dont read it most of the time, anytime they print and article that any of you think is incorrect please feel free to refer it to me because the articles I have read there seem correct to me.
Some in this country call whites racist for standing up for their own and it is no different than the reverse. You never read in "Mainstream" media about the black hate crimes and black on white crime being 12 to 1 times higher than the opposite. Our own government even hides these facts. Lets print the truth and let it fall where it may.
