December 17, 2002 -- Religious tensions erupted yesterday after authorities confirmed that an Arab girl beat up a Jewish girl at a Brooklyn middle school.

The Arab teen was arrested and suspended for the Dec. 12 attack on the 13-year-old Jewish girl, an honors student, at IS 259 in Dycker Heights, sources said.

Hey, when I was about 12 or 13 and smaller than average (still am by about a 1/2 inch but with a real bad attitude) I was bullied in the school yard by a guy and a bunch of his pals. I didn't go to my teacher or my principal. When I got home I told my mom and step-dad what happened and my step-dad gave me a suggestion and said he would support me no matter what. So, the next day, with a roll of quarters in my hand, I walked up behind the bully in the hallway, tapped him on his shoulder and when he turned around, I busted his nose and knocked him flat on his ass.

I never had a problem with him or his buddies again......

And to my step-father's credit, he supported me in spite of the suspension.....

Me, I walked into the treeline nearby, uprooted a sumac sapling and whacked the sucker with it. (i don't get sumac. He did.)
The punk never hit me with a stick again, nor did he bother me again.

The school should start boxing classes. That would be more helpful than an army of school administrators and psychologists.

And fencing, too. Channel the kids' natural energy, aggression, and competitiveness into regulated pursuits like physical education, and teach them debate and rhetoric to discuss their differences.

Naah, then there wouldn't be anything for the Vice Principal to do all day...

I cannot see why the fact that the Arab attacker was female, makes this not a hate crime, or in fact mitigates her guilt in any way.
