Yep. Kind of reminds of the scene from the original "National Lampoons Vacation" where the auto mechanic in the desert tells Clark his repair bill is equal to how much money he has in his wallet. Clark says something like, "maybe I should call the law" - and the mechanic produces a sheriff's badge and says "I am the law".
Well possibly because I have not been able to read the entire thread. Moreover, I will admit that some of the questions that you posed at the beginning of this thread were in fact thoughtful questions, but at some point your remarks seemed to deteriorate.
As for concerns about legalization of all drugs you would be correct, there are some valid issues around that topic, issues that I struggled with for some time. However there are also problems that are associated with not legalizing all drugs.
Unfortunately I don't have time to go into all of that right now, I'm having to get my daughter ready for the school Christmas show tonight, but if you would like to discuss the topic later on tonight I would be happy to do such.
What I am saying is what I said: "there is no reason to think that crack would send Ma Kettle on a killing spree."
The denial of rights based upon what someone other than the individual wants the individual to engage in is definitely a form socialism. Its a "you cant do that for the good of 'society'" scam.
In the forum of reasoned debate, anyone who makes a claim gets the burden of providing evidence for his claim---regardless of what may be going on in the "forum" of state coercion. If you have no better argument than 'the muscle is on my side', you have lost the debate.
Which I was disappointed to see as some of the questions that Tex posed at the beginning of the thread were in fact thoughtful questions concerning the subject, unfortunately somewhere along the way his line of questioning seemed to deteriorated.
However as his recent post to me indicates his issue may be around legalization of all drugs as opposed to some drugs, a valid question.
Manfully conceded.
But I still get the prize.
For now. But slavery disappeared because its defenders had the muscle but not the arguments; if you want your grandchildren to live in an America where "hard" drugs are illegal, you can't rely on muscle and the status quo.
You have to prove it is not, not the other way around.
Anyway, it matters not now that I have the right to dispatch you according to your rules. You are a perceived threat ya know. LOL
And we wouldn't want you to get behing. LOL
