Over the past several days, we've talked about putting a missile defense syetem in place. How will that help against WMD trucked across the Mexican border? Drudge has talked about "back pack nukes." What are we doing to seal the Mexican border to prevent them from being "packed" across the border?I like that dems will start putting pressure on Bush to tighten up our borders.
Regarding missle defense, is your point that we should not have missle defense or that we should be securing our borders in addition to having a missle defense? If the later, I agree. If the former,
I should point out that these are two distinct threats. One threat is missles launched by NK, China and the like. The other threat is nukes brought in over the borders. The typical argument by the left that, because we have not addressed one of the threats (backpack nukes) means that we should not address the other (missles launched by NK or China) is obviously silly.

What a joke Edward's is, he is up to his neck as is just about everyone in business and government with illegal workers, Edwards North Carolina is becoming one of the most invaded by Hispanics in the east. Edwards is grabbing ink and piling on with all the other so called experts and critics. It is Edwards own party that has made this invasion through our southern and northern borders possible with all their liberal laws.
You dont have to read, however please do, Michelle Malkins Invasion a further eye opener of just how we are losing our Western Culture and American values through politicians and other aficionados of cheap labor and corporate money for votes. Edwards is very aware of this and does nothing to stop the flow!

I don't see anything wrong with Edwards' proposals. But if Bush proposed these same ideas, the Dems would blast him as threatening civil liberties and fostering a racist, zenophobic ("keep the aliens out") mentality. For years the press and the Democrats branded Pat Buchanan a racist for trying to secure the borders.

Edwards is once again "crossing over" the line. Moron.

"It is time for all of us, without regard to party, to say what every American knows: Washington is not doing enough to make America safe,"
I nominate Edwards for RAT Minority Leader...
To: jern
I'm no expert, but it seems to me that some of Edwards' suggestions have merit. We definitely need more border security, and more info sharing between local and federal authorities. Just because the guy's a Democrat doesn't mean he's wrong.

Oh, please, this is nauseating. An obstructionist democrat whining about America's vunerability is like the Menendez brothers seeking mercy cause they're orphans.

We are asked to take this guy seriously because he is attractive.
To: Galtoid
This guy is going to be so easy to defeat. The public just needs to learn ONE thing about him: TRIAL LAWYER. After which he will be TOAST.
That's exactly what the folks in the Faircloth campaign said back in '98...
Folks, I want to make it clear that I despise Edwards, but I would caution conservatives who rightly want to drop-kick this chicken-fried shyster right out of the body politic that harping on his trial lawyer background isn't going to be the silver bullet we would hope. The NC GOP thought all it had to do to re-elect Faircloth was to continually repeat the mantra that Edwards was an ambulance chasing sleaze. He is certainly that, but they lost, because they didn't properly gauge the extent to which the "feminization" of American politics has taken hold, even in the Tar Heel State. I don't want the national party to make the same mistake. This guy just rates off the charts in soccer mom focus groups, and pointing out that he and his ilk cost us all hundreds of billions a year in added costs doesn't get any traction when the vast majority of voters now believe that "the corporations" are a bottomless source of wealth. Edwards is "cute", and "he cares about kids", and that's all that the soccer moms think is necessary for him to be worthy to be POTUS.

"It is time for all of us, without regard to partyHave you noticed how many of "THEM" are using that prhase or something close to it? They keep saying it's "not about the party, it's about the country." Gore said it, too. And several other people.
Watch for it. And, of course, watch for "code words."
Somebody has been busy flash faxing talking points to all the DNC players.

For once Edwards is right-The Administration is not doing enough to protect the country from left wing extremist such as John Edwards, who would use the threat of terrorism as an excuse to turn America into a prison for law abiding citizens. Anyone who has a scheme that guarantees that nothing like 911 ever happens again is a liar-nothing can prevent such from ever again happening, and to even get near such a haven from fear, the restrictions upon our lives would be less bearable than anything terrorists could do to us.
I am suprised that Edwards doesn't propose sueing the terrorists into oblivion-isn't that the most devastating weapon in the arsenal of Ambulance chasers?
To: jern
It is now abundantly obvious that Edwards is thinking about the RAT Presidential primary and NOT the N.C. Senatorial general election.
-->> Excellent news!!!

The DNC players all have chips planted in their heads, with a direct link to the mother board-no faxes are are required.
"It is time for all of us, without regard to party."
Didn't that used to be called, "bipartisanism", a code word of the DNC meaning, " anyone not a demogogacrat or completely beguiled by the demogogarats, is behaving in a partisan manner" ?
To: F.J. Mitchell
Absolutely! Way back when!

I don't know, he's pushing the tobacco quota buyout and made some sort of 'offer' to Sen. Dole on judicial something-or-others. I think he wants to have his cake and eat it too.

You are right - these people who think Edwards will be a pushover if he gets the nomination are living in a dream world. He will be a formidable opponent, and I am therefore hoping the nominee is Kerry. Since 1950, with the exception of JFK, Northest liberals have been abysmal failures as Democratic presidential nominees. Northeast liberals always come across as stern and preachy and I'm-smarter-than-you, and that turns off a lot of people. Gore lost because he had the smug persona of a Northest liberal rather than the disarming folksiness of Carter, Clinton, and Edwards. I don't think Bush would fare too well in a one-on-one debate with Edwards. He has all of Gore's strengths and none of his weaknesses.

Have you noticed how many of "THEM" are using that prhase or something close to it? Yes I have .. I might add this is something the President has always said .. the Dems always talked about what was best for the PARTY .. not the COUNTRY
Also, did you read the story about how Hillary at a speech she gave in NY mentioned Rush apologized to her .. What was the point in that?? .. and then Jesse appearing on Fox yesterday??
