Some Velvet Morning by Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood. Did you say Nancy Sinatra?
These boots are made for walkin'
And that's just what they'll do.
One of these days these boots are gonna'
Walk all over you.

I love "Running with the Pack", and "Ready for Love" myself. Good stuff!
Other notables:
Foreigner - Starrider
Jeffferson Airplane - Miracles
Alan Parsons Project - Time
Triumph - Fight the Good Fight
Justin Hayward - Forever Autumn
Shooting Star - Hollywood
Pachelbel - Canon in D (Now how did that one get in there?)
To: dfwgator
Tom Lehrer - National Brotherhood WeekClassic.

I have to admit that I had forgotten about that one, until I read a hilarious piece in the current "Weekly Standard" by Michael Long called
Dreck the Halls: A tour through the worst of Christmas music. (WS subscription required to access -- if you don't have one, go get this issue; it's on newsstands now). Absolutely priceless!

This long and winding article is quite possibly indicative of the author's many wasted days and wasted nights, instead of trying to get people to line up behind their favorite silly love songs, or maybe even get them to shout out loud "I love rock and roll", this man simply needs to sit back and listen to the music.
Me? I believe in music, and that the greatest love of all, is when a man loves a woman.
So, to those of you who wish to say that your song is the rock of ages, I say: let it be.

Doesn't work. Cuts out early. The other files seem to work fine though. Of course, I'm on Linux now, and as we all know, Linux sux.

No, but it looks interesting. I'm a sucker for cover versions. If you like cover versions, or Lee Hazlewood, check out emusic.com. I had a three month subscription to the service and downloaded a ton of weird albums. I dropped emusic.com after my initial three months though, because they started having problems with the availability of their newer offerings.

"God Bless America" God bless America, land that I love.
Stand beside her and guide her. Through the night with the light from above. From the mountains. To the prairies, to the ocean white with foam. God bless America, my home sweet home. Semper Fi

Arrghh. Best song ever? It would seem that instrumental classics are not in consideration, only "songs" with vocal elements? I don't see any symphonies anyway.
My list, top 5 in no order:
Led Zeppelin "Rock & Roll"
The Who "Don't Get Fooled Again"
Nirvana "Smells Like Teen Spirit"
AC/DC "You Shook Me All Night Long"
The Ramones "I Wanna Be Sedated"

The most disturbing thing I've learned so far is that Cliff Richard was knighted.

Actually, the lyrics you posted are not from the song "Sunrise Sunset" in Fiddler on the Roof. It goes like this (partial lyrics):
Is this the little girl I carried
Is this the little boy at play
I don't remember growing older
When did they
When did she get to be a beauty
When did he grow to be so tall
Wasn't it yesterday when they were small
Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly flow the days
Seedlings turns overnight to sunflowers
Blossoming even as we gaze
Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly fly the years
One season following another
Laden with happiness and tears
[end partial lyrics] I absolutely love that song.

If you heard this through file sharing, then I suspect you are a victim of one of the most common mis-attributions is the file sharing universe. The rave-up redneck cover of Gin & Juice is by Austin's favorite band, The Gourds. Check 'em out. "music for the unwashed and well-read."
I've heard alot of Hank III, and I don't think he does this. It has also been attributed to Phish, String Cheese Incident, Leftover Salmon, and others. But it is the Gourds. It is even on their EP, "Gogitchershinebox."
But it is damn good stuff.

and "It's Still Billy Joel To Me" by Weird Al. Alot of his stuff is great, and some is subtly brilliant. I love "Its all about the Pentiums".
